"Great location"
We loved our stay at the Hotel Bellegrande because of its location. It is very near the Ryoguku station thus going to tourist spots such as the Ueno Park, Asakusa Temple, Sky Tree Tower and the shopping districts is easy. It is also within walking distance to Edo-Tokyo Museum and the Sumo Museum. The receptionists are willing to help and assist you with your inquiries.

"Excellent for the price."
We went for what the hotel calls a 'Double Room B'; I'm not sure how it differs from a 'Double Room A', but it was big enough for two of us and excellent for the price. The facilities were good and the room was clean, comfortable and tidied up nicely by housekeeping daily. We were on the 22nd floor with a view of Ryogoku and the Tokyo Skytree, both of which were absolutely stunning at night. I don't know if you can specifically request a room on this side of the hotel but I would highly recommend trying. The location is convenient, right next to the Ryogoku subway station (i.e. there's a subway entrance next to the building). The Edo Museum and a couple of lovely gardens are very nearby - the Former Yasuda Garden is beautiful, be sure to see it - and it's not too far to walk to Asakusa and Akihabara. The staff were very helpful and accommodating to requests. All the staff we encountered spoke perfectly good English, although they didn't seem confident about their skills (one member of staff repeatedly apologised for her "not good English" while fluently giving us detailed instructions on which trains to take). The ground floor restaurant is very good. The top floor restaurant was quite a bit out of our price range, although to be fair it's clearly not intended for budget travellers. There is WiFi in the lobby, although I had difficulty getting a strong signal. As others have said, WiFi in the rooms would be an improvement. All in all, a very good hotel for the price.

I would stay again when I am in Tokyo. Room and toilet are quite small but they were clean. I enjoyed the breakfast most of all freshly baked pastries were fantastic. The location was very convenient. I had to go to Haneda airport and it is 1 minute walk to tube station. You can find airport express line and it is direct. The area is safe. Just below you find convenient store. I highly recommend it.

"Cheap and offering good facilities"
location is definitely far from any main attraction in Tokyo city but I this drawback is justified by its price. I would recommend it for short budget travelers , which only go back to the hotel once per day. Very close to subway gate .

"A nice cheap hotel... maybe a little too cheap?"
The first time we went to this hotel it was a bit hard to find, but if you make your way to Kodemmacho station it's only a short walk away. We found there wasn't a lot to do nearby, but it's close to the Hibiya underground line so you can get around easily. There's also a convenience store next door. There's a nice coffee shop just across the road too. The reception is nice and the staff are absolutely lovely, and very accommodating. Most, if not all are able to speak English so if your Japanese isn't great, they'll still be able to help. The cleaning staff also did a great job and were very pleasant if we ever saw them in the hallway. The staff are certainly the highlight of the hotel. The rooms aren't big but they have everything you would need including wifi, a small fridge and air conditioning. You wouldn't want to spend all day in the hotel anyway so it's perfect for a place to sleep. The hotel is cheap and cheerful, but since it was so cheap we found this meant it was quite busy with other guests, and we had a bit of a problem on our floor with very loud tourists shouting at each other in Chinese in the middle of the night. This happened a few times. It's not the hotel's fault, but this should be noted if you're planning on staying.

"Our Stay at the Pearl"
We are not fussy people. So long as we get a good sleep and a wash, we are happy. We thought the staff to be beautiful and humble, much like the rest of Japan, We were treated with the utmost respect and care. You could say that the room was a bit cramped and the bath very small, but we see all kinds of stuff, and it did not damage our enjoyment. Breakfast was lovely.

"Great staff!"
Our family stayed for 3 nights in two rooms - each with 2 twin beds. I booked very late (one week in advance) otherwise there are rooms that could have housed us all (2 kids ages 12 and 8 and 2 adults). Pros: Staff was super friendly and helpful, and found two adjoining rooms for us. Kids allowed into the pool (though not allowed a bunch of horseplay), and also into the jacuzzi/sauna areas within the men's or women's locker room (but it's naked, so be prepared if you're Westerners like us!). Cons: Rooms were a bit tight even though we were on the Executive Level. I imagine they may be large by Japanese standards, but I chose Executive rooms for two reasons - slightly larger rooms and also free access to pool/fitness room and breakfasts in the mornings. Unfortunately, the breakfast and pool were NOT free for our children. We had to pay for them each time. Either I didn't understand that when booking or it's not very clear on Expedia/hotel's website. Breakfast was very good - 20th floor, great views, western and Japanese choices, hot and cold foods. Concierge was helpful and attentive, and they had an excellent map with nearby restaurant options. The vibe of the hotel is more suited towards business people, but my kids didn't feel out of place. The decor is also a bit opulent/frilly vs modern/clean lines, but it was nice (just not my style). Overall a good experience once I got over the fact that pool and breakfast were not free for the kids (they did get a reduced rate).

"Really small roomed hotel"
Having been two 5 other hotels in Japan before this one we found it very small. There was barely any room for two luggage bags on the floor and allow us to walk to the bathroom. I had booked for 3 nights for two people. The first night after a long walk to check-in (we turned the wrong way out of the station) found we had only given towels and a pillow enough for one person. Luckily the next day I didn't have to ask and this was fixed. The hotel is very close to the bus air terminal which was handy for our early morning flight. The staff were available at 4am for check-out which was greatly appreciated.
