"We really enjoyed this unique property as we explored southern Illinois and western Kentucky. This house had everything we needed. Spacious bed, step-in shower, fast wi-fi, kitchen, and patio. It was close to the water and some shopping. The communication with the host was excellent. "

"The cabin is quaint and designed like a tiny house. There was a queen bed in the loft. The stairs to the loft were actual stairs. It was easy to climb up. The ceiling was high in the miiddle so we could stand. The bathroom had a good shower without walls. So plenty of room. I think it would be beautiful in the fall. Cicadas were singing and flying around. We had a good time. We would recommend it to others."

"Ive been down to Shawnee a few times for the New Year but this was our first stay (but hopefully not the last) at this great cabin. It was a great location - minutes from Garden of the Gods and close to our other favorite hikes in the Bell Springs area. The cabin itself was clean, with a nice kitchen, 2 nice bathrooms (with plenty of hot water) and bedrooms and fun stuff for the kiddos (my daughter loved the air hockey table). The hot tub was a real treat after a day of hiking in the cold....

"Me and my buddy stayed at this property for our annual Shawnee hike trip. The house was as described and only a short 1 minute drive from the Garden of the Gods outpost and only two miles from the Garden of the Gods entrance. We will definitely stay here again!"

Relaxing Getaway
"We loved our time in this cottage. It was a getaway for our anniversary and it was the first time without any kids in about 8 years.. This property met all expectations and even exceeded some The cottage was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The mist rising over the lake in the mornings was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, the hot tub and the quiet of the lake. I would highly recommend this accommodation. The property was clean and communication was good for anything we needed. The dirt road in and out might be a little rough for some people but I'm an old country boy and I expect that in any place with this kind of privacy. The drive to Paducah Kentucky could be done in less than 30 minutes. You can also hit the town of metropolis Illinois in about 20 minutes. Both of these sounds have access to some good local shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed the national quilt museum, the Superman museum and local restaurants. Overall we encountered 20 different species of wildlife. We enjoyed watching the turtles pop up all over the lake and hearing the frogs and crickets at night. We were able to lay on the dock and watch the stars. We even saw some shooting stars."

Very decent for the price and private.
"Stayed here while attending a bike rally nearby. It's a nice private place to stay and they do keep it decently clean. The place itself is in need of upgrades and the finishes are cheap and have wear and tear. Overall it was a good place to stay and we were comfortable and enjoyed the privacy. Has a functioning kitchenette but no pots, pans, ect. There was coffee but only a water boiler the make it with so we had to basically throw the filter into the boiler. For the price I would stay there again."
