Just your average Joe from america

Pros: Modern, clean, and quite.
Cons: Do what is either asked off or what has been told you will do, like removing the fold away bed. Tell me about fees for check out early.
Location: Nice 5 min walk from Vatican and the bus and public transit is easy to figure out.
Over all this place was nice, however I received several charges during my stay. One was from my girlfriend to stay that was an extra 30 EU a day and the other was as we where trying to leave quickly for the airport they stopped us to tell us that we needed to pay the city tax... UH ok anyways over all the staff were nice and spoke clear English which was helpful and the only other problem was there was a fold up bed in our room that didn't need to be there and they said they would take it out and they never did.

Excellent location

Posted 28-Sep-2013
Pros: location
Cons: coffee at breakfast was not very nice
Location: just off the main road by main bus stops, nice restaurant a few doors down, 5 minute walk to vatican city
Stayed here for 6 nights in rome, was an excellent base for our trip, reception were very helpful in getting around on buses etc, bus stop and train station were minutes away, a few more minutes walk and you were in Vatican City. Rooms were comfy, breakfast was good. Recommended!

good breakfast, good location. CLEAN

Posted 07-Jul-2013
Pros: Mostly everything
Cons: if you offer currency exchange to patrons, don't claim that "commission free" exchange at Eur/usd of 1.60 is a good deal.
Location: Vatican and everything else is near by withing walking or bus riding distance. Bus is cheap.
CLEAN and modern. Great air conditioning. Shower was funky, but we delt with it. Staff was really good too.

BETTER OFF SOME WHERE ELSE!

Posted 07-Jul-2013
Pros: The air conditioning is great
Cons: a lot of problems with the room
Location: away from everything, only close to the Vatican
Hotel Gravina, Is situated in a restricted area closet Metro 30 mins away, and not many places to eat close. The WIFI is AWFUL!! So don't rely on that. The breakfast was ok, Room was OK, locked out room and shutters were not working, lights not working. The map they provide is ok but don't rely on that. only good thing it is close to the Vatican but everything else far away

Good for a 3 star

Posted 20-Feb-2013
Pros: Generally clean
Cons: The rooms at the back don't have a great view
Location: No issues, were able to walk around till 10pm. Only a couple of Restaurants (watch what the charge for) within 5 minutes, lots of cafe's
Good overall View at the back of the hotel is not great and the breakfast could be better. All considered it was a comfortable stay and clean Close to St Peter's (10 min walk) and about 20 min walk to the entrance to Vatican. If you plan to go to Vatican and St Peter's its great, but you will need to arrange a hop-on-hop off if you plan to visit the other sites. Everyone should do consider the Roma Christiana Pass for a day it could save you a little £. If you plan to queue and buy your tickets - don't go to the Vatican early, you will queue longer than if you go a little later

Small and functional

Posted 14-Jan-2013 on Hotels.com
This is a cramped modern hotel but functional and clean. It is very convenient for the Vatican itself but not so well placed for the other attractions of Rome. It is not in the most elegant of spots but then it is relatively cheap. The breakfast was basic but functional - 'Continental' style only.

Love This Modern Hotel Near Vatican!

Posted 25-Oct-2012 on Hotels.com
I used to live in Rome, in this neighborhood. Why this hotel is awesome: 1) Above all, service. The guys at the front desk were all incredibly kind, attentive, and resourceful. They speak good English, and were even more helpful than some of the concierges I have dealt with in the past. 2) The rooftop garden bar. Stunning view of St. Peter's dome at night + Buddha Bar lounge soundtrack. 3) A nice European breakfast included in the morning -- with cheese, yogurts, meats. Also, if you want a cappuccino or espresso, just ask! 4) Cleanliness. Room made up & bathroom cleaned very well, and daily. I might add that the water pressure in the shower was great! The modern Euro-style big shower heads & handheld shower-bars are a nice addition. 5) Proximity to the San Pietro train station (2 min walk) and the Vatican/St. Peter's (7 min walk). Also, buses run on Via Gregorio VII, which go straight into the center. 6) The friendliness & kindness of the staff. As a young woman traveling for business alone for nearly 3 weeks, I felt totally comfortable here. And within a few days, I became friends with nearly everyone working at the Gravina! All in all, this is a great, simple Euro-style hotel, with a sleek, minimalist modern look (the rooms feel like a typical Italian flat), and great views of the Vatican. I will definitely be back again!
