“Holiday Inn Express, Playa del Carmen”

This hotel is located in a less desirable neighborhood. I do not recommend it.

“Cool and Clean”

The hotel was very clean and well kept. If they had a cafe it would be almost perfect. The walk to the beach out the back door was wonderful the front NOT. They need to have a walk way out the back. Overall I would say we had a wonderful stay and would book this hotel again. A nice walk to the beach but not so close for quiet.

“Nice and close to town”

We were using this hotel untilur timeshare unit was available and it really was a nice hotel, decent little breakfast and quiet pool. we would use it again and recommend it to someone wanting a faily inexspensive hotel in Playa.

Downtown Playa - by the beach close to Fifth Avenue and all the cafes ans shops.

Getting there

Quick ride from cancun airport, close to boutiques and vendors, great night life and close to beach.

“Nice place to stay !”

Very clean, good breakfast, very nice staff, small pool, 10 min. walk from 5e Avenue Playa del Carmen and 15 min from ocean, bus terminus and ferry. Complimentary shuttle every hour to go to centro. We enjoyed this hotel and we certainly return.

“Good hotel, good price”

Nice clean hotel with decent breakfast and friendly staff, we got a cot for no extra charge so our teenage boys didn't have to share a bed. Best if you have a car to drive(5 min) into town and park to go to the beach and 5th Ave. Beach club was nice but not really walkable. Very good for the price we got from Expedia 5 nights and a car for less than you would think!

Area recommendations

Rent a car and explore, we went to the pyramids of Coba (do the tricycle tour!), Tulum, snorkeled in the Grand Cenote and at Xel-ha. It's really easy to find your way around in the Yucatan.

“Nice clean hotel”

Though it's not on the beach it's a pleasant place to spend a few days, perhaps while waiting for a reservation to open at a beach resort. The hotel is very clean with generous-sized rooms, a small pool and gym. They offer a good Mexican buffet breakfast. It's a fifteen-minute walk from 5th Ave. in Playa del Carmen and less than that to the beach.

“Bang for your buck”

We have been to PDC several times and used this hotel for only one day prior to taking possesion of a condo. The rooms are comparable to any of the five star hotels. The beds are soft and not the usual hard mattresses a lot of hotels have. The location is just a short walk to the beach and restaurants.

Area recommendations

5th Avenue is blocked off to allow only foot traffic which spans about 30 blocks. This is traveller friendly and is full of different restaurants and stores. There is a little something for everyone on 5th Avenue.

Outdoors or beach

Mamitas Beach is the best in Playa Del Carmen just past Constitutients Street (about block 16 and the beach).

“Excellent value”

We did not want an "all inclusive" resort and found this hotel convienent, clean, and the breakfast was good.

Area recommendations

Visit Maya ruins in Tulum and Coba'. Both are in easy driving distance and worth the trip. Explor is 15 minutes away and if you like that type of experience, it also is worth the trip. Must visit Ave 5 for dining and shoping.

“Good security. Clean rooms. No bar. Satisfactory complementary breakfast.”

Not bad at all! Friendly staff. At a slight distance, but not that far, from Avenida Cinco...where the action is. Good security on grounds. Not near downtown, but accessible by a short taxi ride. Nice swimming pool. Very clean place and grounds. Our room was on the first floor, and the doors aren't too soundproof. The maid service was good and they brought a roll-away bed immediately upon request. I'd stay there again.

Area recommendations

Near downtown (Avenida Cinco) if you don't want to ride a taxi after drinking a few cold ones. Playa del Carmen is very enjoyable.
