Ideally situated for exploring Heidleburg

Posted 15-Apr-2014
Pros: good location, friendly staff
Cons: being very British- the sauna! It is "Finnish" meaning no swimming costumes
Location: explore the cafes and bars in the pedestrianised area of the old town which is only a few minutes walk away. Stroll by the river.
We had a short break of 3 nights here. The hotel is well located for exploring the old town and the shuttle bus from the airport drops you right outside the hotel. We had a room overlooking the courtyard which meant that despite the central location it was very quiet. There is also a swimming pool to help relax the muscles after exploring the longest pedestrianised street in Europe as well as climbing up to the Schloss. There is also a fitness suite to help work off the ice creams-there are so many ice cream shops to try as well as bars and cafes. The staff were very friendly.

Good hotel very centrally placed for shops.

Posted 14-Apr-2014
Pros: Helpful staff Clean, quiet rooms Central location
Cons: Free wifi in rooms. There is currently a charge unless you are a member of the loyalty scheme but it should be free to all guests
Location: Centrally placed for shops and town centre. Useful emergency dentist nearby as I discovered after my crown fell off!
Good hotel with delightful staff. Very convenient for shops and there is a tram stop outside for getting to the touristy parts. There is also a shuttle bus direct to Frankfurt airport which is a lot easier than heaving luggage on and off the train. Staff were really helpful.

Great location and comfortable room

Posted 26-Jan-2014
Easy and quick tram ride from the station to the hotel. Warm welcome from helpful staff. Room was clean, nicely furnished and comfortable with some nice touches. Easy walk onto the old town and also an awesome coffee shop across the road which makes great cappucinos and also burgers and chips at a decent price. The only thing we found disappointing was that wi-fi was not free, however they did have a computer near the lobby with free internet access.

Conviently located, parking not really an option

Posted 12-Jan-2014
Pros: Great location, easy access, friendly (English speaking) staff
Cons: WiFi in any customer service field should be free.
Location: Close to everything in the old city. You can walk to restaurants and bars, even take a hike to the castle.
Just a short stay, but everyone/thing was pleasent.

Average business hotel in town centre

Posted 12-Dec-2013
Pros: It was in the town centre and would have been quiet had it not been for the doors (see above)
Cons: Take the spring off the doors. Make wi-fi free Employ a better cook in the Gaudeamus bar
Location: Centre of Heidelberg in the old town. Short walk to Haupstrasse (longest pedestrian shipping area in Europe) and various museums etc.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for four days/nights and were unimpressed. All room doors are fitted with a high tensile spring and most people walk out of the door leaving it to SLAM shut on it's own. If you like a quiet night don't use the Crowne Plaza. Wi-fi is 22 euro PER DAY !! Why? In the UK most pubs/restaurants/libraries/caf├ęs etc etc are FREE. Fortunately we found free wi-fi in a cafe across the road. Bar meals were underwhelming and one had to be sent back - it was uncooked.

Nice hotel, friendly staff

Posted 02-Dec-2013 on Hotels.com
This was my second stay at this hotel and I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. My room was clean and of a reasonable size. There is internet access through a paid for wifi connection, which is expensive but does work. My only gripe with this hotel, and pretty much all the other major ones, is the TV. The system is clunky, dated and slow. Also, why do hotels like Crowne Plaza offer a package of movies and internet through the TV but not for general wifi and movies?

very pleasant stay

Hotei is in close proximity to restaurants and town, good breakfast, good service. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights, and had dinner at a near-by Thai restaurant which was very good, and breakfasts at the hotel ( also very good). It`s 20min walk from old town and this hotel was right for a weekend stay. Wifi is not included in the price of the room , and expensive. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay very much

My room was very good. The staff was outstanding. The location was great, I will most definitely stay there when I return this summer.
