"#1 in town. nice staff, pool, bar, pristine rooms."
Great I always stay here in redding. Great staff, the pool and jacuzzi are right next to the bar. The rooms have directv and new flatscreens. Free wifi. Balcony in room. Great breakfast , which is complimentary as far as I know, Still hard to beat if u are eating locally. Lively bar for redding on Thursday Friday Saturday.
Top marks for most of our experience - Prior to our visit the hotel called to check if we needed directions and such. No problem for late check-in. Convenient layout for working/using laptops. Lots of cable channels with HBO. Clean room and comfy beds.
Minor cons - funky room smell when we first come in. Quilts on the bed (hotels should really stop using these). Breakfast is at a restaurant which is not on premises (3 min drive).
The front desk staff was simply outstanding. They assisted us with future reservations and with directions to local businesses. The food service was a little slow but the food was great. The free breakfast, however, was not really free but included in the room price. One was given the impression that you could order breakfast from the menu but turned out that only one item was available and that was the lowest priced one. Not good.
My husband & I returned to this Comfort Inn on our return trip from Portland, OR to our home in SoCal. We were given the same room we had last week. When I wrote the review of that stay, I noted that there was inadequate lighting in the room. Apparently, rooms were being remodeled & this one was incomplete on our 1st visit. Added this week were unique bedside lights. There was a wall-mounted light as well as a spotlight on a gooseneck so one could read without disturbing your partner. There were also 2 outlets on top of the bedside table for very convenient recharging.
This hotel was pretty great! They have a spa and some great gaming. The room was very very clean and new. The pool area is nice. Could be a little bigger as the hot tub only fits like 5 or 6 people. Also the hotel wasn't able to get us extra towels on the first night but they discounted our room for the inconvenience. All and all, it's a great place to stay.
