OK Hotel at a good price

Posted 19-Jan-2015
Pros: Price
I was in town for school and could not afford the prices of the hotels down town. This hotel was better priced and was average. It was clean and a place to sleep. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who does not expect to spend a lot of time in the hotel and just needs a place to shower and sleep.

Did not have what was advertised

Posted 13-Jan-2015
Pros: Having the Panera restaurant right there for breakfast.
Cons: New carpeting, regular size pillows, adjustable shower heads, heaters that run on auto so when the room heats up it shuts down.
Location: Location is good. Quick access to the University of Pitt and major highways.
The card in the bathroom said they had adjustable shower heads...it didn't. The shower spray was more of a mist than an actual shower. The card also said they had curved shower rods for more room...it didn't. Many pieces of furniture were moved out away from the walls and at odd angles. The heat in the room was too hot and wouldn't adjust to auto...so it would run all night. We had to turn it off to listen to the TV because the heating unit was too loud. The carpet is very worn and looked dirty in some places. The pillows were more like covered throw pillows and not the size of a regular pillow (uncomfortable and flat).

The staff was very welcoming and nice. The hallways of the floor I was on was not in the best condition, BUT there were signs apologizing because they are in the process of renovating. The room was large and very clean.

It is an older hotel but clean and you can tell there are on going renovations. My wife and I do not like the tiny pillows but that is a Choice corp. change. The view of the Pittsburgh skyline is very nice. Having the Panera restaurant on grounds is very convenient.

Depressing

Posted 15-Dec-2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly.
The picture on the internet looked a lot nicer than it actually was. I felt it was overpriced. Needs remodeled. The sliders onto the balcony were dented and hard to open and the paint and concrete on the balcony was peeling. I'm glad I only stayed one night and wouldn't stay there again.

It was a nice hotel

The hotel was nice. Enough parking space, Panera bread at the first floor, several other restaurants are nearby. The location is really good.

Not Worth the Price

This facility is not in good condition. The shower took a while to warm up, the deck slider door was drafty, the common areas are dingy, and the doors don't keep out noise. Not a pleasant experience.

good value in city limits

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: near university of pittsburgh
Cons: the rooms need make overs in near future. as in total
Location: great location if you are doing something at university of pittsburgh and dont want to spend a bundle
the hotel is strictly ok. not great. not horrible. it is the only reasonably priced hotel near University of Pittsburgh within city limits. there are other nicer hotels but they are almost double the price. the fitness room needs a make over. they have free coffee available 24 hours. the rooms are ok. they will need a make over within two years. they just re did the lobby. only reasonably priced hotel in the city near University of PITT. i stay there whenever i go to visit my frosh daughter.
