Convenient to activities in Oakland

Pros: Convenience, room was plesant
Staff very pleasant and helpful. We had arrived from the airport and were very tired. Clerk noticed this, and moved our room to one closer to the elevator instead of down at the end of the hall.

Pros: Location - good. A quick bus ride into the city. Staff - friendly and helpful. Bathroom and bed clean. Bed comfy. GIANT Panera underneath it!
Cons: It could be updated. They were working on renovations of some sort when we were there. The door to the balcony was pretty ghetto.
We went to see Fleetwood Mac at the Consol. We tried to get a room right downtown but ALL HOTELS were booked! This one was the next closest, and the price was right, so we took it.

Dirty bathroom

Pros: I liked the location.
I chose this hotel because it was cheaper than the other hotels in the area. On any future visits to Oakland I will spend the extra money to stay in one of the other hotels. (I have stayed in all of them.) My problem with the Quality Inn was the dirty bathroom, specifically many hairs of varying types and lengths in the bathtub, in the sink, on the toilet, and on the floor. After I saw that I wondered about the rest of the room! I cleaned the hairs up because I had to meet my daughter for dinner and didn't have time to go through the inconvenience of changing rooms. Also, the room had some chipped paint and just looked tired.

The hotel was under renovations while I was staying there and they started work at 6 am. I was in Pittsburgh for an interview so I was already a little stressed, and I did not enjoy being jolted awake an hour early. I'm sure other guests would want to sleep in even longer. The first evening I was here, I was trying to find out how late the buses and trains ran and the man at the front desk searched for a bus schedule for about a minute and then just asked me whether or not I had my computer. I feel like some basic information about transportation is an important thing for a hotel to have. Maybe it was just lost because of the clutter due to renovations, but that was a little disappointing. The room itself was pretty nice and I loved that there was a Panera on the first floor. The staff were all friendly, even if they were not able to offer some resources I expected them to.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff. 2:00 pm check-out for rewards program members. Ample parking. Panera very handy right in the building. Shuttle service.
Cons: Put a sign in the elevator explaining that 'R' stands for "restaurant," and also post the hours it is open.
Location: Walking distance from Univ. of Pittsburgh and other schools, but not right on campus like the Wyndham. Easy to reach by car from airport via I-376.
Most if not all of the rooms have balconies. Guests can go out onto their individual balconies and smoke, even if they are in a no-smoking room. Nice for the smokers, but a definite downside for their non-smoking neighbors. During a recent stay, the smoke from my neighbor's balcony came into my room through the ventilation system, and the smell was annoying. Not sure if they were breaking any rules...I didn't lodge a complaint, so perhaps the hotel would have moved me if I had requested it. If you stay here, be sure to use the extra lock on your sliding balcony door. It won't keep the smoke out but it might keep out a burglar or an even more unsavory intruder. This hotel has seen better days. Paint is chipped and walls are cracked. The sink took at least 10 minutes to fully drain, even if the stopper was never closed. The mini-fridge in my room made so much noise that I finally unplugged it to get some peace. The toilet burps and groans for about five minutes after being flushed. When Panera is closed, to enter the hotel you have to go past the back of the building where the restaurant exhaust fan is. It isn't the most welcoming way to enter a hotel. Free daily newspaper is a plus.

Pros: nothing!
Cons: 1n the late 80's I worked for a large hotel co. If we did not meet the standards, we lost the name. What are your standards Quality Inn?

When there are no other options, it's a fine option. Pretty dirty, killer view of cathedral made it just fine though. Will do it again.

I came to Pittsburgh for a bodybuilding competition, the hotel was priced low but the quality was good, the bed was comfy, ac was nice and cold and the bathroom was clean with hot water!

A very value hotel close to Universities

Pros: I like this hotel overall, and I thinks it is suitable for people who come to University for a short period (1-3 days) while limited in budget.
Cons: It needs a overall renovation.
Location: University of Pittsburg, UPMC, CMU
The best of this hotel is its location, either going to UPMC or University, it only takes you 5 mins in Walking, while comparing with other hotel it offers a attractive price. The hotel staffs are helpful and friendly, and it has a panera on the ground floor. The disappointing thing is, all facilities in this hotel are extremely old, and the room has a musty smell, sometimes it's a little bit noisy if your room located to the evaluator and ice machine.
