good value in city limits

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: near university of pittsburgh
Cons: the rooms need make overs in near future. as in total
Location: great location if you are doing something at university of pittsburgh and dont want to spend a bundle
the hotel is strictly ok. not great. not horrible. it is the only reasonably priced hotel near University of Pittsburgh within city limits. there are other nicer hotels but they are almost double the price. the fitness room needs a make over. they have free coffee available 24 hours. the rooms are ok. they will need a make over within two years. they just re did the lobby. only reasonably priced hotel in the city near University of PITT. i stay there whenever i go to visit my frosh daughter.

I stayed for a residency interview at Magee. It was convenient to the hospital.

Bad, everythiing was grimey. Staff was fine, maybe above average. Best thing in the hotel is the panera that happens to be connected.

Not Bad Choice - But Not Great Either

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Pros: Very clean room and comfortable. It was also quiet. The restaurant attached to the hotel is one of my favorite places - Panera's! Excellent.
Cons: Furniture and fixers are dated.
Location: The location was excellent for us because we were attending a funeral of a family member. It was within five minutes from everything we needed.
We were disappointed at first, but after sleeping in the room and getting up to a niece hot shower, I said "It;s ok." Everything was neat, clean, and functioning. Cheap and close.

Adequate hotel. Close to University of Pittsburgh.

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Pros: Convenient location. Competitive price for area.
Cons: The facilities need to be upgraded.
Location: Convenient to University of Pittsburgh and area hospitals.
We were a group of four, (2 adults and 2 teens), in the area to visit a relative who is a student at the University of Pittsburgh. Our accommodations were sufficient, though not luxurious. The hotel is in the process of renovating, which is necessary. We were not inconvenienced by any renovation work. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A good value for the $ compared to other area hotels, if you don't need something fancy.

Just one night

Posted 30-Oct-2014
Pros: Ease to where I had to go
The only thing wrong for my room was I REALLY wanted a cup of coffee first thing out of bed. Went to make a cup in the room, and the piece that holds the coffee in the maker was missing.

It's nice for the price

Posted 28-Oct-2014
It's nice for the price as a returning college student. The housekeeping staff wasn't very good at cleaning. They would clean the bathroom and not make the bed. The shuttle is convenient for getting around Oakland though.

Well located for University area

Posted 20-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, accessibility with public transport from airport.
Cons: Common areas appearance
Bus 28X takes you from airport to a stop two blocks away from hotel for only $3.75. There is a Panera Bread at hotel. Rooms are clean and have coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The sliding window (to big balcony) was old and we felt the cold draft as we got closer, so heating was needed even with a 55F temp outside. Basic and clean, nothing fancy. Coffee at lobby. Shuttle leaves on the hour and takes you anywhere in the downtown, Oakland, or Squirrel Hill area for free. Corridors have old carpet, room doors are old and look bad... But the lobby was undergoing renovations, so maybe they remodel all public areas later ;)
