"We enjoyed staying at 5 Shadycombe cottage. Owner sent lots of useful information by email shortly before stay. The cottage was compact, clean and well equipped. The bathrooms were a little compact. The cottage location and proximity to Salcombe allowed us to walk into town. We found fabulous art store, along with a great bakery for breakfast goods and pasties, in addition fudge, chocolate and ice cream stores all very yummy. "Getting to Peacehaven was quite an event, the main roads are easy to navigate. The lanes are a different story, narrow with passing places, very constricted by high banks needing a lot of concentration to navigate safely. Wind your door mirrors in unless you want the drivers side damaged by passing traffic on the lanes. Peacehaven once reached gave fabulous views out to Bigbury on Sea, Banntham Bay, Burgh Island and its hotel with the seascape beyond as well as the estuary leading inland. The...

"Stunning location by the river. Remote and peaceful. Don't take a big car!!! Its a narrow track to the cottage!!! Well equipped kitchen. Lovely outside decking area. Comfortable lounge. Very helpful neighbours and hosts. Our only complaint was the very noisy boiler which woke the whole house up every morning !"
