“Excellent overnight stay”
We chose the Ramada as we were arriving in Naples via train from southern Italy for a one night stopover before an early morning flight back to Gatwick and we weren't disappointed. I agree that the area isn't the most attractive but the hotel staff were extremely helpful and our room was clean, spacious & quiet, with a very comfortable bed & pillows. We were able to check-in for our flights on the computer in reception & print our boarding passes (all free of charge. Our taxi to the airport in the morning arrived within a few minutes & was at the hotel's reduced rate. We would definitely stay here again if passing through Naples.
“Great Hotel in the Center of Naples”
The Ramada is a great hotel in the center of Naples. The staff on the reception were extremely helpful and courteous. The room was very spacious and cleaned to a very high standard. If staying in Naples again, I would not hesitate to book the Ramada.
“Best for the Circumvesuvio”
If you're going to Naples as a base for visiting the excavations at Pompeii , Herculaneum etc (and let's face it , you don't come to Naples for the romance), then you can't get more convenient than this hotel as it's right across the road from the entrance to the Circumvesuvio line.
“Gritty Naples but well worth it”
The hotel was excellent and well worth the stay. Sure the neighbourhood is not the most salubrius but this is Naples. The Hotel is 5 minutes from the main railway station and Piazza Garbaldi. This means it is excellent for getting to and from the airport, the metro or train trips out of Naples e.g. to Pompeii. The room was very comfortable, very clean with everything you would expect apart from perhaps complimentary tea and coffee (there was a bottle of water). Hair dryer, room safe, tv were all fine. Shower faclities, hot water etc were all as we expect. Our room did not have any sort of view but we did not expect one. The room was surprisingly quiet given the very busy main road outside - we did not have to resort to our ear plugs but we did keep window closed at night. The hotel staff were excellent, kind, obliging and very helpful in giving tourist advice. I really cannot speak highly enough of them. The hotel breakfast (which was included in the price on our booking) was diverse, generous and included sufficient healthy and vegetarian options to keep my good lady happy. The quantity enabled us to get through the day without needing to stop for lunch (unless of course you want to). All in all we were very satisifed with this hotel, the service and the standards and would not hesitate to go back again. Book with confidence.
“Very happy”
As has been said in many other reviews not in the most attractive area, but all of Naples is generally dirty, with grimy tenement buildings and piles of rubbish everywhere. The bonus is the close proximity to the station for the Circumvesuviana train. This will take you to all the main attractions. The hotel was friendly and welcoming, breakfast includes just about everything you might want and is easily enough to keep you going all day. Some of the public areas look a little tired, dirty carpets etc but the room was first class, very clean and comfortable and was serviced each day with great care and thoroughness.
“Ideal choice for do-it-yourself trip to Naples, Pompeii, Paestum, Sorento”
I was very pleased with my five-night stay. I wanted a good base for a do-it-yourself trip to naples and surrounding sites. The Ramada is only five minutes from the Circumvesuviana and Central Train Stations, so this made it easy to get to and from Pompeii, Paestum, Herculaneum. It's also only ten minutes from one of Naples' best pizzerias, Da Michele, and is about half an hour's walk from the excellent Archaeological Museum. My room was large and confortable, though quite sparely furnished. The bathroom was very clean and an ample size. The buffet breakfast is a real plus: easily enough to set anyone up for a day's sightseeing. The bar was pleasant and the multi-lingual staff were helpful. The hotel lacks "character", but that wasn't what I was after. The local area is unglamorous, but it's well-lit and safe, and I didn't plan to spend time around the hotel. Finally, I thought the deal offered through expedia, of 5 nights plus flights from manchester via Gatwick was excellent value. I'd certainly recommend the Ramada to anyone planning a similar trip to mine (possibly less good for the romantic break!).
“Convenient for train station”
If you need to stay close to the train this hotel is fine. The reception staff were friendly though my booking was a problem and I had to stay in 2 different rooms on teh 2 night stay. The bar staff were busy with the coach tours and it took 3 goes trips to teh bar before I was served. Breakfast was good though. If you want to stay in a nice location stay down at the Excelsoir - people I met loved their hotel. Remember this is Naples and even teh Ramada does not guarantee a clean and pleasant street outside the hotel.
“We have sayed there twice now and will be booking again in March 12.”
The hotel staff are very friendly and are able to converse in a number of languages especially on the reception desk. I was very impressed that three of the staff remembered that we had been there six months earlier. The hotel is very clean and welcoming as you would expect from a large hotel chain. The rooms are spacious and a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the hotel. The food and drink is pricey compared to the local restaurants and cafes, but that is no different to any other hotel in the area. The food in the hotel is good enough to warrant the price, but it is a limited menu. It is situated in what looks like a fairly rough area, mainly due to the significant works that are going on around the Station Garibaldi. We were there when there were problems with the refuse collection, however, six months later and the place has cleaned up and looks much much better.
“Good location. Helpful staff. Don't hang around at night though as it's near the red light area.”
Perfect for when you arrive by train as it's only a 5 minute walk from the main station. Although I would be a bit worried walking around here in the dark. Hotel has free wifi. Breakfasts are very average but adequate.
“Ramada Naples”
The hotel as with any multi national chain was very efficient, rooms were clean etc; Pity the rest of Naples did not match up to this! Wish I had heeded other reviews about it being an open toilet!! Watch where you step around the main square? The buffet breakfast at the Ramada was more than enough to satisfy the hungry tourist to set yourself off for a days sightseeing. The optional evening menu was of a good standard though pricey, there are many more restuarants around the main square to choose from but be prepared to have a menu thrust at you as you walk by.
