“I would go back again”
My partner and i stayed in this hotel for 3 nights (29/08/09-31/09/09).After looking at many other hotels we choose this one because it had a traditional look(Bavarian) and feel to it which we thought would suit to Munich, being such a beautiful city with so much history. After reading lots of reviews of this hotel we have not found one that had a negative opinion and now we are pleased to choose this place because we could not fault anything in this hotel. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful, and had very good English. The room was very clean and although the bathroom was a bit small it was very clean and served it's purpose very well. The hotel is in such a good location that if i was to go back to Munich again i would choose this hotel again. We did not eat in the hotel at all because we found great bakeries and restaurants in the center as we were doing our sight seeing.Perhaps next time... Overall we had a great time in Munich and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. We loved it's caracter and as we asked for a quiet room we got one facing the back yard which was quiet. There is a "gentlemen's club" opposite the hotel and a sex shop next door to the club ( and an other club like this in a nearby street)but throughout our stay we felt very safe and have not seen or heard anyone or anything that would have made us feel unsafe or uncomfortable so do not let the club put you off to choose this hotel.
“Great Hotel for City Break to Munich”
I do not really write reviews but because I was so impressed with our stay at this hotel I wanted to write one. This hotel had an offer with the third night free, great value and would pay even if it was not on offer. The hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Good location to the central station and walking distance to the centre of town was about 15 mins. The restaurants around the area were great and we didn't need to go into the centre of town. Highly recommend the Park Cafe which was recommended by the Hotel. Rooms were clean and ok size. Twin beds pushed together but they were comfortable. Good coffee machines in the rooms!!! Highly recommend this hotel for a weekend away in a great city!
“excellent base”
We were delighted with this hotel. It was very comfortable and the staff were helpful. Did not have breakfast at hotel, plenty of inexpensive local alternatives. A small supermarket is very close by and it is an easy walk to the centre. Proximity to the station and bus to the airport is a great help.
“Fulfilled All Expectations”
I really can't think of a negative thing to write about this hotel. In every respect we found it to be more than satisfactory. I can honestly state that we have never encountered more friendly, courteous and accommodating staff - they were exceptional - always smiling and greeting and ready to help as much as possible with any request. Certainly the breakfast buffet is expensive but the variety, quantity and freshness of all that was available, both hot and cold, was outstanding. Again, the staff in the Breakfast Room helped to make every breakfast a pleasure - even remembering which of us took tea and which took coffee. Our bedroom was standard, not large but very well appointed. The double bed was firm which didn't suit my wife but this was immediately rectified by the hotel room staff who placed a thick blanket under the mattress sheet. Cleanliness of the room and bathroom was superb. A coffee machine of the Espresso variety was provided - unusual in German hotels in my experience. The location suited us perfectly. The hotel is only about 8 minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof and the same distance to the "Karstadt" store from where the 'Hop On, Hop Off' City Tour buses leave. It is about a 15 minute very pleasant walk to the MarianPlatz and the other parts of the Munich Altstadt. Plenty of good eating places within very easy distance of the hotel.
“Friendly, comfortable hotel”
Upgraded to club room when arrived. Hotel quaint and with character, room clean. Tassimo coffee maker in room pleased boyfriend, but I wanted tea! Service in the hotel was outstanding, always happy to help and very polite and friendly. Good location, near station, lowenbrau kellar and 12 min wallk into towncentre. Would recommend highly.
“A nice surprise”
I never go for the 'top end' hotels, preferring to stay somewhere that appears to be good value. This trip was no exception, so although we wanted to be near the centre, I didn't want to pay a fortune. This hotel price worked out around half what you would pay for a Hilton, though breakfast was not included in our rate but there are many cafes locally so I wouldn't pay the extra. We had twin beds rather than a double but we were too tired to bother asking to change - it was fine as they were pushed together. The hotel location is excellent, about 3 mins walk from the Hauptbahnhof, and 15 mins into the centre of town. Our room was a good size, though the ensuite (shower only) was extremely snug, only room for one person at a time. The hotel is on a busy road so our room facing the road had a bit of noise, but this is a city centre so no surprise there, and it didn't affect us. The room has a complimentary coffee machine but no tea. The only other problem was we couldn't work the air con properly so despite being in the middle of winter, we were a bit too warm. Again, it wasn't enough of a problem to warrant complaining about. Overall I would recommend this as a charming hotel in a great location, and would definitely stay there again.
“Will go back”
Visited Munich for the beer fest which was a dissapointment as we couldnt get into any of the beer halls, but the hotel certainly was not, spotlessly clean, very good service, breakfast excellent. If we return to Munich which is a lovely city, we will definately stay at the Kings First Class again.
“A gem within five minutes of the main railway station”
A very well appointed 4 star hotel only five minutes walk from the main railway station. The staff spoke perfect english and could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. The room was quiet and air conditioned and the beds were extremely comfortable
“great hotel”
I read the reviews of this hotel on Expedia recommendations and it lived up to all that was said about it. It was a great hotel with very friendly staff who were happy to help in way they could. We were warned that the hotel had a lap dancing club opposite, but, as was stated, you would never know it was there. We had breakfast at two local cafes - both were excellent. The room was not huge - but had everthing you would expect from a 4*hotel. It was very comfortable and the only extra thing we could have wanted was a bath - it only had a shower, but a very good one. You couldn't sleep with the window open, as we like to do, because of the noise of the trams through the night, but with the window closed and air conditioning on, there was no noise at all (apart, obviously, from the a/c!) We had four nights there in February 2010 and would definitely stay there again if we returned to Munich.
“Kings Hotel - First Class - will definately return !”
We visited Munich in December 09 to catch the Christmas Markets, it was a real treat, so many markets and so much to do ! The Hotel staff were excellent all spoke English and were very helpful and attentive. The room was very, very comfortable well decorated and maintained, the room service and room cleaning service was excellent, and the hotel was close enough to the town center to walk to all destinations in the old town and market places. Close to the train station we made use of the excellent train service to visit Garmish a post card town at the foot of the Alps, train costs are very cheap in comparision to the UK. All in all I would recommend this hotel to friends and family without hesitation, and although Munich is better known for the beer festival, do not discount this town for a pre-christmas pick me up and shopping trip you will not be disappointed.
