“Quaint Hotel”

A comfortable, warm hotel. In room fire place added a touch of class. Hotel staff were very helpful in arranging sightseeing and making bookings.

“Very Nice”

Don't expect 5-star, but expect clean, comfortable. If you want ritzy, go somewhere else. But if you are happy with Best Western, this is a bit cozier and nicer. Breakfast was much better than typical continental. Very homey, hot french toast, newspaper, etc. Walking distance to aquarium and restaurants etc.

“Comfort and Value”

We stayed at the Best W estern Victorian Inn in Monterey for 2nights along with other Best Western motels on a recent road trip to California, Got a great rate! Well worth the $$, The room was a good size, comfy bed, pretty good bathroom/shower, and friendly service! Free Breakfast and Wine&Cheese in the afternoon. I would not say this in the fanciest hotel but CLEAN ,comfortable and well located, I would stay again and over all impressed with the Best Western chain.

“Great and conveniently located”

Very easy to get to before or after visit to aquarium. Easy parking and room access. Room was clean and nice. Breakfast was great. The only hot tub we found was not worth a review.

“Great place to stay in Monterey Bay”

We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff immediately. Everyone we spoke to was very helpful, warm, and friendly. The day we arrived the hotel had just changed all their mattresses for new ones but we were given the room keys for access after 4 PM. The room was pleasant and comfortable with a fireplace and balcony. The new mattress was wonderful! The afternoon wine tasting and complimentary breakfast were nice plus. As stated in their ad, it was an easly walk to the aquarium and Cannery Row. Would definitely stay there again!

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is fantastic - a must see.

“excellent value for price.”

Nice spacious room with balcony and all usual extras. Even had TWO luggage racks! Nice afternoon "cocktail" hour and very nice continental breakfast. Not many places to sit when there's a crowd though. Receptionist mixed up our name/visa card with another guest so I had to return to the desk with my card to rerun it. Receptionist blamed the error on me, saying I had accepted her incorrect spelling of my name over the phone. I didn't argue and she later gave us a free appetizer card for a local restaurant (probably given to all the guests anyway) Other than front desk, the stay was lovely and the hotel is close to the Cannery section withh shops and restsaurants within a close walk. Very nice place!

“Won't be returning”

The pictures from the internet were very misleading. I expected a quaint bed and breakfast type setting and instead we got a outdated motel room. The only thing victorian was the name. The location was the only plus, 5 blocks from the monterey bay aquarium was nice. Next time we go I would pay more to stay on Cannery row. The breakfast was pitiful and my husband and I had to eat breakfast standing up because there wasn't any available seating in the breakfast area. This was especially difficult with a baby. In our room we could hear everything above us and outside in the hallways and outside as well. I will definitely not be staying here again and would not recommend it to others.

“I'll stay again!”

It was great. We walked everywhere: Cannery Row, Aquarium, restaurants, etc. I'm bummed I missed the wine and cheese reception but won't hesitate to book this hotel again. I like the balcony, nice spacious room, very quiet at night. Quite a bit of traffic noise during the day but we were out and about and not sleeping, so it didn't matter. Staff was great and had some much needed toothbrushes that I apparently forgot to pack when leaving. Staff was very friendly.

Highly recommend this hotel as you can park and not use the car again.

What to pack

Depending on time of season, during April, shorts during the day and sweatshirts for the cool nights.

Outdoors or beach

It rained in April during our visit but not enough to stop us from doing anything even go to the beach and hunt for sand crabs, sea shells and all other things marine.

“Best Western Victorian Inn - 4/6/11”

Quaint, quiet hotel located relatively close to the convention center & aquarium. Great water pressure & speed of internet. Free tasty wines, cheeses & crackers in the late afternoon. A microwave would be a welcome addition to this well laid out room.
