"The location, way in the mountains, was gorgeous; the innkeepers were hospitable and such nice people. We enjoyed our two-night stay veery much. Two points to make: 1) while the hotel says it’s a B&B, one doesn’t get one unless you request it in advance. The website should make that clear. 2) the place is very difficult to find since there is no sign on Route 299 to lead guests to Monomori Inn on a side road, with the inn being up a little ways. Otherwise, we recommend it highly!"

"Sasaya was easy to find and is a beautiful old ryokan set in lush surrounds. We were personally greeted at the door, given tea and sweets while being checked in and were shown the facilities so we were familiar with where the baths were. Our room was 8 tatami mats with an extra annex, super quiet and very clean, with separate bathroom. But the best thing about this hotel were the baths - the outdoors rotemburo is just this side of heaven, especially on dusk, and it's private. The indoors baths...

"Upon arrival, the hotel did not have my reservation at hand and seemed to have trouble locating it at first. I paid and went to my room. It stank of cigarettes. I went back downstairs to see why I wasn't in a no-smoking room as requested. The hotel said it was only a request and they did not have any rooms wih two beds that are no smoking. 1. I blame myself for not checking. 2. Expedia needs to know that the hotel has no no-smoking rooms with two beds. I will never stay at the hotel again,...
