Ok hotel - good location but overall disappointing

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Pros: Good location close to Picadilly Station.
Cons: See above - lots.
Very difficult to find how to get to the hotel by car - I found the hotel by sat nav quite easily but getting to the front door or the car park was something else. There was no TV remote in my room and operating the TV without was difficult. I phoned reception when I arrived to request a remote but it hadn't arrived by the time I let the following morning. The only restaurant was fully booked and there was no space to eat in the bar although there were various free tables all of which had reserved signs. So the only option for eating in the hotel was room service. My first call wasn't answered before I gave up after thirty or so rings. My second call was answered and I placed my order before being advised of a forty minute delay. The food when it arrived was okay but not great.

Close to Piccadilly Station and all the trams.

Posted 14-Feb-2015
Pros: Situation, friendliness and always having enough staff working related to the events being held in Manchester.
Cons: Nothing . Unfortunately ran out of time to visit the spa.
Location: Piccadilly station trams allowed us to visit all parts of Manchester very easily on a day ticket.
Extremely friendly staff who went out of their way to help at all times. A busy meeting place hotel which caters for football supporters and business people alike. Great atmosphere.

Nice hotel next to station

Posted 11-Feb-2015
Pros: Location. Quite large rooms. Large shower
Location: Close to station and city centre.
Nice hotel near the city centre (15mins) and conveniently located next to the railway station. Rooms are larger than a standard hotel room and despite being in a central location the rooms are quiet and the beds very comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep. When I arrived their were a number of BA flight crew checking in so used by the big airlines.

Nice hotel ideally located

The hotel was within walking distance of the Picadilly train station and about 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Nice large rooms and comfortable bed/linen.

Lovely hotel close to the shopping centre.

Me and my daughter were only booked in to stay one night but we wished we were staying for longer. I was very impressed with how friendly and accommodating the staff were. The location was perfect with it being walking distance from the train station, the shopping centre and only a five minute taxi ride to the Palace Theatre. Our room was very clean and spacious and i wanted to take the bed home with me as it was so comfortable. Overall i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who was thinking of staying in Manchester.

Disappointing, didn't live up to expectations.

Posted 11-Jan-2015
Pros: Proximity to the train station Big bed
Cons: Service Decor Toiletries
Tired, slightly shabby hotel that needs a facelift. My room (and corridor) smelt musty, the room was big but everything in it was tired and in need of an update. I didn't have a remote control for the to, so I rang down to reception and was told that there would be someone with me shortly. I waited 40 minutes and no one had arrived, so I had to ring down again and then about 15 mins later someone did arrive with one for me. A small thing, but annoying when you've had a long day and travelled several hours to get there and you just want to settle down and relax by watching a bit of tv. Also the room was heated primarily by a plug in storage heater, again just not living up to my expectation for this supposed 4star hotel. I got married in a Macdonald hotel (Bath) and so was really looking forward to my couple of nights here, but ended up really disappointed. I wouldn't go back here, unless I really needed to be so close to the station, there are so many other much better hotels in Manchester.

Myself and my partner stayed in Manchester for New Years Eve and our anniversary of New Years Day. We are so glad we chose this hotel. Just a short walk from the Fairfield entrance of the station, we were greeted by a polite doorman at the hotel. We were seen to immediately at the reception and were made to feel very welcome. Check in was quick and friendly and we headed to our room. We booked an Executive Double Room and asked for champagne to be waiting. We got everything we asked. We emailed when booking to request a city view room and the view was wonderful. (fireworks galore at midnight) The hotel was quiet and the bed was big and very comfortable. A large bathroom with shower and seperate bath. The room in general was large and the facilites were perfect. Checking out the next day was very easy and a joy to get to the station as its so close. Would defo recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Städtetrip über Weihnachten

Posted 03-Jan-2015
Cons: Besseren Informationsfluss sicherstellen.
Location: Lage 5 Gehminuten vom Piccadilly Bahnhof entfernt.
