One night stay.

Posted 04-Sep-2014
Pros: Facilities and breakfast
Cons: Some furniture in room a little dirty and tired.
Location: Good location for city centre
Nice hotel. Stayed here 7 years ago. One or two minor cleaning items.....used floss on floor and used shampoo bottle. Did not effect quality of stay though. Good little gym and breakfast.

Well presented Hotel, Close to Rail and shoping Ce

Posted 31-Aug-2014
Pros: Close to the station and shopping facilities, Clean and and well organised
Cons: Some of the description of the Spa treatments could be misleading eg the treatment for hands and feet. I only had cream on my hands and legs.
Location: The location is excellent only a short walking distance from the mainline station. No need for transport to or from the station, or shopping facility
Very quiet and unobtrusive. able to relax and enjoya well earned rest.

MacDonald Hotel Manchester

Posted 24-Aug-2014
Pros: The rooms were clean and tidy
Cons: Training staff on how to be customer friendly.
I have stayed in a number of MacDonald hotels over the years and always had an excellent experience. Unfortunately this was not the case in Manchester. From start to finish I thought I was let down by some of the members of staff, not all I might add. The food was ok, but the service was far from below standard. Also you need to pay £20 per night to park your car in the Hotel car park. The Spa closes at 8pm, so it really benefits business people who work late, and want chill in the hotel spa later. I personally won’t be back. Hope this helps others when decided where to stay.

Nice hotel and perfect location(close to station

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: staff, room and location
Cons: I would recommend if the Hotel can add or replace an item or two from the breakfast buffet - everyday exact same. Plus add other options than pork.
Location: close to the center - shopping district and museums. The best thing is a walking distance from a railway station so you can catch a train to anywhere
Enjoyed the stay, staff were very friendly. and so happy and supportive. Breakfast was good - however, I would recommend if the Hotel can change their daily menu: add or replace an item or two from the breakfast buffet - cause staying for 4 days and eating exact same food was a bit boring. Plus it was all pork so no option for those who don't eat pork. That would be my only recommendation. Otherwise, everything was wonderful.

Very disappointing

Posted 12-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean
Cons: Give the front desk ability to deal with problems, not just check you in!
Location: Location not the best!
Nice drink at bar, bed at 2am then TV turned on at 6am and woke us, Neighbours banged from 7 am, and house cleaning knocked us up at 9.30am... We felt we should of had a good sleep been it was a hotel! Let staff know we had bad time, they where dismissive, did not listen and said oh the GM will be in touch via email.

A modern, nice hotel in Manchester.

Posted 10-Jul-2014
Pros: Rooms were reasonably large, comfortable, clean and quiet, although some noise from trains on Piccadilly Station could be heard. Good facilities.
Cons: Car Parking - Expensive Breakfast - Expensive
Five of us occupied 3 rooms over 2 nights whilst visiting Manchester for my daughters graduation. The hotel is very close to Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station, which is within easy walking distance, also to most of Manchester City Centre to which there are good bus, taxi and tram links. We travelled by car and if you haven't been before the car park at the back of the hotel is very difficult to locate because of the road layout - a good idea is to get the car park postcode for your 'satnav' before you go! Car parking is £20 per 24hours/night, which is a bit expensive, but the car park is reasonably safe and secure and very close to and visible from the back of the hotel. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and well provisioned and we had no problems or grounds for complaint during our stay. All the staff were very friendly, efficient polite and welcoming. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Ok for the price - not really a 4* experience.

We got this hotel as a room only deal and it was pleasant but not amazing. We couldn't afford £20 for breakfast each so can't comment on the quality of that - went out to Starbucks instead! The hotel was nice but a bit tired looking and the view of the rainy railway platform was wierd (we could see the facial expressions of the people on the platform we were so near!). The rooms on the other side of the corridor are described as 'city view' which I think means 'dual carriage way'. The location was great (close to the station!) and the staff were very good. The room was quiet, the bed was comfy and the air con good. We didn't get a bath but the shower was great! We didn't book a spa treatment in advance and there were no remaining slots for the rest of the weekend which was a shame. Book in advance if you want to have a treatment. Overall, a decidedly average hotel. We probably wouldn't go again as there are so many other options in Manchester city centre.

traditional hotel close to Piccadilly stn

Posted 08-Jun-2014
Pros: location, clean and comfortable
Cons: slightly dated bedrooms,
Location: very close to the centre of town and station good location
i had a very large room and bathroom, clean and comfortable. a bit noisy at night as lots of hens and festival goers (you could see the mud from wellies in the lift lobby). the first night was very hot as air con not functioning, i mentioned it to reception and it was sorted that day. no cooked breakfast option for room on continental/hampers. lots of people checking out at the same time only 2 lifts so often arrived already full of people. Leaving luggage and when you returned they couldn't find the tags so just asked people to go and select their bags.
