Dejligt hotel i Costa Del Sol´s bagland.

Posted 25-Apr-2015

Beautiful Benahavis

Posted 07-Feb-2015
Pros: Excellent buffet breakfast included, lovely traditional Andalucian decor, accommodating staff.
Cons: The organization of the restaurant service times.
Location: A great base for visiting mountain towns, and costa del sol glitz, and golf! The quaint village of Benahavis nearby has wonderful tapas bars
We stayed 3 nights/days in this lovely hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and well serviced. The hotel restaurant was so very busy, we ate there only once because we were spoiled for choice by the nearby village offerings of taverns and tapas. A lovely quiet respite in the hills above busy glamorous Marbella. The hotel was a great base for daytime visits to Ronda, Casares, and Puerto Banus.

Spa hotel located outside the town centre.

Posted 31-Jan-2015
Pros: The room was very big.
Cons: Food.
Location: Benahavís is known for its great food. I unfortunately did not get to visit the town but if you staying just in Benahavís this is a must.
I stayed for a weekend. The hotel is nice and would be wonderful in the summer. I had a nice room with a balcony and facing the pool with beautiful views of the hillside properties. I found the restaurant to be average. I had dinner on the Friday night. I asked for a well done steak as I do not like it to be bloody. The steak I received was overcooked and dry. The vegetables had been microwaved and the carrots were fit for the bin. Breakfast was better but still average.

Fint hotell för lugn och ro

Fint hotell med fint spa. Bra och trevlig personal. Mycket prisvärt. Dock behöver man hyra bil då hotellet ligger lite avsides.

Charming hotels in the hills

Posted 03-Dec-2014
Pros: Location and rustic charm
Cons: quality of the towels, bed linen and toiletries
Location: Lots of good restaurants, bars and cafes in nearby Benahavi
We stayed 6 nights in a standard room overlooking the court yard which was very pleasant and quiet, especially as the hotel was not full most of the time we were there due to the low season. The room was very large as was the bathroom. Decor was charmingly rustic and not very different in a nice way to the extremely large and commercial hotels. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Diego. If the hotel improved the quality of the bath towels (quite thin and small), bed linen (old and thin) and toiletries (watery), then it would live up the four star accreditation. However, these are small niggles and did not mar our enjoyment of our stay. We did not eat at the hotel but had the breakfast each morning which was fresh and plentiful. The village of Benahavis was only less than 10 minutes walk up some steps and despite the low season many of the restaurants and bars were still open, offering very good food and drink. We would definitely stay at the Gran Hotel Benahavis again.
