“Design excellence and luxury”
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The unique design of the whole hotel was stunning. The food was excellent and the choice at breakfast was immense. Views from top floor bar amazing! I was a little wary of the location having seen some bad reviews on that point but was pleasantly surprised at how near the metro was and how easy it was to get right into the centre of Madrid.
“Fantastic hotel”
We have just returned from a weekend break in Madrid and my trip was enhanced by the quality of this lovely hotel. It was situated close to a main tube station and was in a great location to see the whole city. Loved it.
“beautiful design hotel”
Each of the floors has a different design, we stayed en two different rooms during the 3 nights we had. The beds were great queen beds and the overall design of the hotel was great. The hotel staff was very helpful and service minded and the hotel breakfast was nothing less than fantastic. Sadly also a bit expensive (22€ per person). Parking was also expensive, but you get to park in a safe area. And there is a great lounge/night club at the roof of the hotel! We can differently recommend this hotel.
“Architects dream. We loved it!”
We were on our honeymoon and picked this hotel because of its cool design. Not only were we very impressed with the design but also with the professionalism and friendliness of the hotel staff. The staff was very nice and helpful, showed us the interesting walking routes in the City, recommended restaurants, clubs and historic places to see. Also, if you don’t know Spanish – everybody spoke English in the hotel. The hotel is within 5 minutes walking from the metro so it’s in a very convenient location. The rooms are very clean, neat and with an outrageous design. I love modern design and this was one of the best looking hotels that we stayed in. Also, they have a bar on a top floor (sky lounge) – I definitely recommend checking it out. It gets very busy and crowded on the weekends with locals – trendy Madrid crowd – but if you stay in the hotel they will let you in without a line. Highly recommend the hotel and definitely would come back.
“Will recommend this hotel”
This hotel is very nice in my opinion, very artsy, you need to check out all the floors! It's not in the city center, but it was very easy to the city center (3 stops at the metro). The metro is about a block away, so not a far walk.
“Madrid's very different Hotel”
I will recommend this hotel for business traveling only not to visit or vacation.
“Funky hotel”
We stayed in the above hotel for a girly weekend in Madrid. My initial thoughts were that the location was dreadful and it was like being next to the M25, however once we had worked out that the tube stop (Cartagena) was only 2 min walk, this was not a problem as the Metro system is easy to use and efficient. The area that the hotel is in is not great for restaurants etc but we used to spend all day in the city centre, eat there in the evening and buy a bottle of wine in the local supermarket (2 min walk from hotel) and ring down for an ice bucket on our return. We also used to pop to the bakers in the morning and buy our breakfast and eat in our room. The staff at our hotel were really helpful and the hotel is really exciting- worth getting the lift to stop at every floor. The hotel staff will also show you some of the other floors if you ask them to and well worth a look! Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel, it was quiet, comfortable and relaxed and it didn't bother us at all that we were not in the city centre and although we were informed that the hotel had been full when we were there, it is so well soundproofed that you don't hear the usual door banging that you often get in hotels!
“Faultless Hotel”
One of the most flamboyant hotels i have stayed in. Been a residence of many of the finest hotels in the world and this was up with the best, they couldnt do enough for any of there residents. Perfect metro links for the whole of the city and the sky lounge on the 13th floor was breathtaking.
“NYE 2010 in Madrid”
My boyfriend and I booked the Puerta America for 5 nights. The hotel is really beautiful and we were given a choice of 4 different floors all of which were stunning! The hotel certainly has a 5 star appearance but sadly does not have 5 star facilities. The room was beautiful but had no i-pod dock, no iron/board, no english TV apart from news stations and no films (to buy or watch). The gym is very tiny and I noted a woman on the bike with a dressing gown and slippers on! So this area certainly needs attention. The bars and restaurants are very good. We ordered two full english breakfasts on our last morning before checkout - one breakfast arrived at the room which was cold, we called room service and asked for two breakfasts to be brought to the room - a plate of sausages were brought up. We asked again for two hot breakfasts and we eventually got two cold breakfasts! Not good enough for a 5 star hotel - we did not have the heart or the time to ask again! The New Year dinner was superb and the staff were very efficient and assisted with various concierge things - there was a desk for a concierge, however, there was no one at this desk for the whole of our stay. So overall, the hotel is stunning, each floor very different and very beautiful. The staff are great, the restaurant and bars are great but the hotel lacks that 5 star appeal that I would expect.
“I loved it”
The hotel is very comfortable, and has amazing design. The Reception staff were very cooperative and gave us directions to go around Madrid. We also enjoyed the rooftop swimming pool.
