“very impreseed”
Everything was just perfect
“Not what I'd expect from a Hilton Hotel - wouldn't go back”
Good reception staff on check in and check out Good waiting staff at breakfast and good breakfast selection BUT Hotel is miles from anywhere for public transport Hotel room was quite pokey and had no aircon The bathroom light was inadequate The carpet had stains on The mattress was small and appallingly uncomfortable There was no fridge to keep drinks cold The reception staff took ages to answer a call from our room with a request for information We were misinformed about the clipper ferry to Canary Wharf times so we tried to go to get it and were told that it was on a break for an hour which was different to information the reception staff told us - meant we had to use a taxi (expensive) WOULD NOT USE THIS HOTEL AGAIN
“Poor”
We had never been to a Hilton before and considering this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel we thought we would have a romantic stay. Upon arrival check in took 15 minutes as there were problems with thier computers-we were told To go and sit down and wait. We arrived at 15.20 and Hilton states guests can check in anywhen after 14.00. We were later told that our room was not 'ready'. An hour and 20 minutes after 14.00 and it's not ready? Poor. We eventually got to the room. With now little time to spare before going to the o2 to see a concert we had to skip having showers otherwise we would be late. Our room's carpet was dirty and stained. There was no bag in the bin. There was no pen to give feedback on the guest experience leaflet in the room! Not impressed with this Hilton. No way is this a 4 star class hotel.
“Great setting, very friendly staff”
We stayed here because we wanted to be near Surrey Quays. The boat over to Canary Wharf was great, and there is a good selection of bars and restuarants there these days. There was a big stain on our carpet where a radiator had leaked and the adjoining room's TV came on every time we used our remote (which was annoying). On the plus side the breakfast room and riverside terrace are lovely.
“Great stay”
Really pleased with our choice of hotel for our trip to see Batman Live at the o2. The free ferry from Canary Wharf is great to take to directly to the hotel! Otherwise you can catch the C10 bus from outside the hotel to Canada Wharf and jump on the Jubilee line! Got upgraded to a Deluxe room which was fantastic for myself, my husband and my 6 year old!! Swimming pool is pretty titchy, but it is London and space is a premium!
“Great area for staying with family.”
This hotel was a really convenient base for us going into London for our weekend. It is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, with a very good children's playpark immediately opposite. There are bus connections to Canada Water underground station, and all the way to Victoria, or you can use the free ferry service for hotel guests to go over to Canary Wharf. Hotel was comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful.
“Excellent service”
Very satisfied with our three night stay. Reception staff were only too pleased to help when we had a small problem. (We understood there would be a refrigerator in our room but this was not the case. On enquiring about this we were told there were only a few available and that they were all being used. However, very shortly afterwards we had a call to say one was available and it was delivered to our room the following morning.) Excellent buffet breakfast. This hotel is located a little way outside the main tourist areas of London but access is very easy, although it was a shame about the withdrawal of the bus service to Canada Water tube station. The free ferry across the river was very welcome and there was only a short walk from there to the Canary Wharf tube station. Not too impressed however with the adjacent swimming pool so only used it once. Had a family room overlooking the river and we found the room very comfortable and spacious. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. We would certainly recommend a stay at this hotel.
“Very nice, but disorganized and out of the way. No wifi in rooms!”
On our 1st night a drunk couple argued on the balcony at 3:50 am. I reported them and the night manager didn't go outside to see where the sound was coming from. Instead, we got dressed to have him come into our room to confirm which balcony they were on. This was after the third phone call and after we'd been up for over a half hour. I complained but we were not moved. On the 2nd night the pub nearby had an event that blasted music until it closed. It would have been nice for the hotel to know this was going to happen so we could have moved. I had the same problem with noise at the Sheffield location. Bad luck with Hiltons I guess. I paid a lot for 5 days of wifi in the bar but then the bar became renovated without notice and I couldn't use it. Lack of wifi in rooms or lobby is a joke in 2011. Breakfast was great but servers always take your silverware with the plates and you have to track more down or ask for them. Be sure to take them off your plate before you get more food. Water glasses are almost impossible to find and then you have to fight for them when they come out. Then you have to find water, which is another problem. They should just put two glasses for every person on a table instead of just one for orange juice. The ferry service is very inconvenient due to break times. Every staff interaction was pleasant. Room was clean except for face marks on the window. We only had one washcloth on the first night and then none on the next three nights. Weird.
“Great staff”
The only downside to the hotel were the beds. They were wobbly. Hard to imagine, I'm sure, but they moved so much..bizarre.
“An absolute pleasure.”
Our stay at this hotel was absolutely perfect. We had a room overlooking the Thames and i would strongly reccomend getting similar. The room was very comfortabel and clean. No noise throughout the night or day for the entire 4 day stay. Every member of staff was extremely helpful and very polite. They made my wife and i feel very welcome. It was my wife's 40th and cards and flowers were in the room upon arrival as asked for. The breakfast buffet was very well organised with plenty of choice and good quality too. The shuttle bus to Canada Water tube station was very handy, especially going until 11.30pm and free! We would definately reccomend this hotel. Excellent.
