“Great location and very good service”

Our room was a good size, only downside as in many high rise hotels is you cannot open windows at all. Service was great and was kept clean and replenished twice a day. If you have a club room the lounge is really good for free drinks, snacks and wifi (no wifi in rooms). There were some maintenance works going on which made it noisy at times but in fairness the site home page says this so you could check. Staff were extremely helpful with all requests and location is great, literally minutes to Tsim Tsa Tsui MTR, star ferry,shopping malls, Avenue of stars etc,

When to go
Oct to Dec a lot less humid than other months.
Outdoors or beach
For a change frim the hustle and bustle of HK, take ferry to Lamma island from central ferry pier 4.  Walk from Yung Shue Wan to Sok Kwu Wan, 2 traditional fishing villages, and end up having seafood at one of the restaurants on the water. Walk takes about an hour, some hilly bits but not hard, good track.

“Perfect Location and Very friendly staff”

The hotel is located within walking distance to Tsim Tsa Tsui MTR station (150m approx.) and ferry terminal to Macau (80m approx.) which depart every 30min. It is just above the Harbour City shopping complex, which is a very large shopping complex full of branded store (DKNY, Channel, Prada etc). There is also convenient store (Watson) and well known toy store (Toy R Us) within the complex. For a tone down version, just walk across the street or overhead bridge linked to Harbour City, you can access another multi level shopping complex with store like Sa Sa (cosmetic). For currency conversion, there are about half a dozen bank just across the street from the hotel. Be sure the check the exchange rate and the service fee before doing business with them. Their rate change by the day. If you are looking for tailor make suit, there are about a dozen of them around the Tsim Tsa Tsui MTR station, make sure you shop around and hagger the price. I had mine done for HKD 2,950 at L&K Custom Tailor at 2 Carnarvon Rd. That include Jacket, pant, business shirt and a silk tie. When I stayed at the hotel, there were some renovation happening. However, the management had done a great job in reducing the noise level and only restrict the work between 0730 to 1800. To be honest, I didn't hear any noise at all during the 5 days I stayed at the hotel except for 1 day when they were doing some drilling above my room. Overall, it is a great hotel, very spacious room with 2 double bed.

Area recommendations
Just within Tsim Tsa Tsui area, you can shop till you drop. There are branded store everywhere with very reasonable price. For a bargain, make sure you make the effort and visit the Stanley market. To get a good deal, arrive early and hagger the price to your satisfaction. They believe that if they don't make a sell on their first customer when they open the door, they won't have a good business for the day. The Ocean Park is a good place to visit, however make sure you wear a good comfortable shoe. I have blister on my toes after a day of walking around the park. For a good night view around Hong Kong, make sure you visit The Peak before sunset and stay till night fall. It is a beautiful scenary at the top.

“Gateway to Shopping Paradise”

I've stayed at The Gateway many times because of it's great location. However, it is not a cheap hotel and charges rates up there with Marriott and Sofitel, so it's about time they spent some money on refurbishing rooms that clearly haven't had a penny spent on them for 20 years at least! If they want to charge 5 star prices then they need to live up to those standards and although the rooms are comfortable and they service is very good, the furniture is like badly jaded.

Area recommendations
The whole of Hong Kong is great. The best city in the world bar none!

“Great location, great service”

The service was superb. I always book on the Executive Club floor. The personalized service is great, the club relaxing, and the location perfect for getting around the Star Ferry/City Complex area.

Area recommendations
Kowloon-Star Ferry area. Great view of harbor and convenient to shopping and ferry to Hong Kong Island/Victoria Peakand only about 35 minutes to the airport.
Getting around
Easy to walk to shopping malls and shopping areas. Plenty of restaurants and sites such as the Star Ferry and Park along the harbor.

“Great Location”

Don't expect too much from this Hotel as it is in need of a major renovations and the rooms are quite old and shabby. But considering it's ideal location it is good value. It is an easy walk to the ferry terminal to catch the ferry across to Central for shopping or a bus trip up to The Peak (bus 15C) and don't miss a bus trip to Stanley to shop at the Stanley markets, bus also from outside the Central pier or from the nearby Bus Terminal. Shopping around Marco Polo Gateway is good but expensive, walk to Nathan Rd for cheaper prices. Check out the Food Republic food hall downstairs from the street opposite Marco Polo Gateway.

Area recommendations
Discovery Bay on Lantau Island. Casual outdoor restaurants, outside seating under red lanterns, palm trees just like a resort. shopping in nearby Tung Chung is a must due to brand name factory outlets.

“Checked out first day”

I would not recommend this hotel because this is very old hotel and the floors smell of a old hotel. Would not come back to this hotel.

“Will stay at Marco Polo Gateway again”

I was very please with the size of the hotel and can't wait to stay there again. Also, the staff were very helpful and pleasant.

“立地条件が抜群”

２１日前の割引を利用して、クラブルームに二泊。 シャトルバスを降りるとホテルのボーイさんのお迎えが有りスムーズに誘導されて到着。 １５階の専用ロビーまでお供してくれました。 私達英語は出来ない５０代夫婦ですが、禁煙2ベットルームをリクエストどうり用意してくれたし、ラウンジの説明書は日本語版をくれたし、丁寧な対応で良い接客でした。 部屋もベットも広くクローゼットなどの収納も十分、家具は別に古いとは思いませんでした。 TVは日本製薄型でしたが、映りが悪かったです。 バスルームも広かったのですが、使い勝手はイマイチですね。 シャワーが固定式でバスタブは広いが浅い、トイレの座り心地悪いなどです。 でも、掃除は行き届き清潔でした。 ラウンジですが、温かい飲み物とビールはオーダー。 食べ物はティータイムはプチケーキやサンドイッチ、カクテルタイムはお寿司が人気でした。 朝夕は温かい料理が用意されていましたし、美味しかったです。 何処に行くにも便利でsky100にも歩いて行きました。 スーパーもあるしで滞在時間の短い私達にはぴったりでした。

何時も高い所に昇ります。sky100にマカオタワーにビクトリアピーク何処も良かったです。マカオタワーからバンジージャンプする人も見たし。

“ｼｮｯﾋﾟﾝｸﾞには便利なホテルだが？”

“次回もこのホテルを利用したい”

Kowloon側TSTエリアで交通の便、買い物、食事の選択には申し分ない。 受付の対応も良く好感が持てた。妻同伴でデラックスルームを利用したがセミダブルベット×２でゆったり、バスタブも広くゆったり、部屋全体も清潔で広くくつろげた。 ただホテル全体の冷房がとても効いており寒いくらいだったのがきつかった、布団をかけて何とかしのいだ。 総合評価は高くつけられる快適なホテルでした。

香港島側の夜景を楽しむ散歩コース、TST駅周辺の買い物と食事の選択の多さ。 とても便利です。

空港からCITYバス、鉄道Airport-EXPなど利用で至極便利。 観光もバス、Ferry,MTRとで便利
