Despite what some reviews might say, this is a fantastic hotel. It has views to die for, a wonderful setting, great food, great staff, a spa, a gym, two pool areas with bars, a beach bar, an indoor bar and a delightful, bonus a la carte restaurant.
My wife and I had a wonderful, relaxing two weeks here.
I mean, yes, if you don't like the thought of walking hundreds of steps per day (the hotel is built onto a cliff-side hence the views) then you're it's not for you. We saw it as a way of off-setting the enormous amounts of food. However, you can order a mini-bus at the dial of a phone to pick you up and move you around this extensive resort.
The beach is small but private and virtually exclusive. The water is clear,I safe and there is a life guard on duty.
The entertainment could be better; if you are into big, animation then this is limited but the small team do work hard. However, if you like your holiday quiet then this it is perfect at the 'quiet' pool.
Just a final word, this is an international hotel, not your average Brit style resort and this means many nationalities. It seems to be a particular favourite with Russians so if you like the 'fish and chips by the sea' type holiday this isn't that. It was fun to watch world cup games here.

the resort is quiet and small with a 200m beach about 3m deep (2 lounges' worth) so always busy and about 20 restaurants (all those we tried were excellent).
my only gripe was that without a car it would be very difficult to get out of the bay as the buses are infrequent and often full, the walk to the top (road) is ok if you're fit but apparently the buses don't stop up there (though they do on the way back from the West direction which is very convenient) and the headlands don't have paths to explore neighbouring bays easily. so either stay in the village/bay or hire a car if you have itchy feet - we ended up meeting a couple with a car to share trips out but before that we spent 80Euro one way to Rethymnon!!

Lovely setting with 5 star quality
The food was delicious and plenty of choice. The pools were clean but s bit cold and the drinks were flowing
Had to pay for drinks in the Chinese restaurant which was not explained when booking but the wine was worth it,
A lovely hotel, in a scenic location with a view of the mountains. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff were very friendly and approachable, very nice people who know their guests on first name basis. It is a nice retreat and is within 10 minute walking distance to the nice beach. This hotel is away from the toy town of Malia, which is full 16-19 year old party goers on quad bikes. The one thing that let this hotel down was again these exceptionally loud young ones, who were resident and took to shouting every night between 3am-5am.

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel for 10 days. Some reviews we read were negative and we had some hesitations in booking but thought to see for ourselves and glad we did. This is a family run business. The service of the hotel staff was of a high standard. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent. The facilities of the hotel were as described and the proximity to public transport enabled us to see other parts of the island. We will definitlely be returning to this hotel next year.
This is a fab hotel in a perfect location - a few minutes walk to the beach and to shops and restaurants. The hotel is gorgeous. Huge and lovely rooms. It has a really nice pool area and bar. Highly recommended!

Terrible hotel. Owner is always with angry face and let himself to scream on guests. Room cleaning is disgusting, sometimes they don't change towels even if you left it on the floor. There is always a smell from toilet.
We arrived at our hotel late at night. It was after 22pm. We were all tired and we had booked an apartment with 2 rooms for 4 of us. We were welcomed at the reception and shown the map where we were and interesting sites near by. We were shown our apartment and were asked if we were happy with it. He sent 4 teas for us courtesy of the hotel. Whenever we had questions they were happy to answer and if they didn't have an answer they would find out for us and come back to us. Family oriented and quite resort. Family owned and all staff were very helpful.
