Young Asian's hotel with good location

Posted 24-Mar-2014
Pros: Responsive and friendly staff
Cons: The whole place could use a facelift - a bit rundown.
Location: Tumon Bay tourist strip wit lots of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, is just a few blocks walk
The Oceanview Hotel is nicely located near the Tumon Bay tourist center but off a side road so more quiet. The staff was very helpful and responsive to our requests, and the rooms were adequate but not fancy. From my obbservation, the clientele was mostly young and Asian, so at night, there were the occasional drunken party makers coming in and some loud TV noises. The water pipes are also noisy if anyone is showering or flushing the toilets on eoither side of you. Good discount hotel if you want to chpealy enjoy Tumon Bay, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel to business travellers.

Good stay with a few problems.

Pleasant hotel grounds. What was listed as queen size beds were more the size of a double bed. The air conditioner provided very little air circulation or cooling, and could not be controlled from your room.

Was staying at Marriott for not much more and didn't a good experience like I did there (room service, being able to control the AC, noise levels). Couldn't even take a bath because the tub wouldn't fill.

Still a good deal

I've stayed at this hotel a number of times when I must be in Giuam on business. This past trip I noticed.that thay have raised room rates and have started charging $10 for airport pickup or dropoff. Otherwise, everything was as usual which, aside from the hard pillows, was comfortable and pleasant. Parking is convenient. The free Wifi and TV (flat screen) were fine. In spite of the price increases there is still good value although I don't think other hotels charge for airport trips.

DO NOT STAY unless its a last resort!

Pros: Location and staff
Cons: The bugs and stains
Location: Its in DIRE NEED of a remodel from top to bottom.
Our family flew in to Guam during Chinese New Year, one of the busiest tourist seasons in Guam. We couldn't get 7 nights in our resort because of our strange flight times we decided to book with OceanView to crash for a few hours before check in at the Westin. Let me just say I'm very glad we checked in at night because once daylight hit I was literally scared. The hotel's location (which is likely the only thing good about it) was great and the staff at the front desk were also great. Other than that I do not have one nice thing to say. The hotel is old, run down, almost seedy. There are stains on the floor, the seating area, and the comforters. The bathroom area had bugs and mold.

Nice room, bad internet

Posted 23-Dec-2012
Pros: helpful staff
Cons: internet, slow and painful to get working
Location: great location, short walk to shops and restaurants
Room was clean and above expectations, only issue was the free in room 'broadband' internet, it was broken upon arrival, after calling the front desk it was confirmed to be broken due to a guest installing some conflicting hardware on the network, after a little luck i fixed this problem and internet worked, but it was so very slow, certainly not broadband speed as advertised. Overall i am satisfied with my stay there, but just be aware, the internet is terrible compared to other hotels in Guam.

The Reservation said all rooms have a kitchen. only the deluxe rooms do. They moved me to one for a few days it was nice. I made a second reservation for a week. Supposed to have kitchen also, did not. The regular room was hot. I asked them 3 days in a row to make it cooler. they tried and said that was as cool as they could get it. According to room thermestat 1st day 81 degrees, after 3rd day about 77 degrees. Making sleeping uncomfortable. Over all not a bad place but I was dissapointed.

Location: Its hard to drive up hill with the curve
Ads said there is wifi, didn't know it was only in the lobby and no wifi signal in the room. Coffee cups are not washed well.
