Davvero intrigante

Posted 05-Jan-2015 on Hotels.com

We loved it

The location is amazing. Right in the Piazza! so beautiful! We arrived by car so that is a bit tricky but managed to find free parking about 3 streets away! There are parking garages but we arrived about 11pm so they were all closed so we had to find something on the street. Entrance to the hotel is literally just a door in between 2 little restaurants. One of the waiters peeked over and saw me having some trouble and told me what buzzer to push. You will have to carry your bags up a large flight of stairs before you get to the lift which takes you the rest of the way. the elevator is tiny and my 10 year old son rode up with the luggage and we walked up the stairs! He thought that was fantastic! The hotel seems to be a converted apartment which is hundreds of years old and very charming. This is Florence! We had a double bed and a pull out couch which at first glance you would think uncomfortable but we all slept great. We did not have a view but several of the rooms look right out onto the piazza so if you can, request a room with a view because it would be spectacular, especially at night. Walk out the door and you are staring at the Palazzo Vecchio. 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio, could not be in a better spot. Hotel staff that we met in the morning were very, very nice. Room was clean and bathroom huge. A great, authentic, Florence stay. Would recommend it for sure.

Perfekt beliggenhet

Best Location in Florence

Posted 19-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Marvellous location in the main square. Walking distance to Uffizi, Main Art Galleries and major Churches. Numerous cafes. Welcoming, efficient staff. Good info on where to eat, book tickets, tours, car hire, parking etc. Free Wi-Fi, PC, printer and phone. Minor point, staircase to first floor then lift to reception on 2nd floor, only a problem if frail. Happy to return.

Close to so much!

Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel. We were in the heart of all the wonderful historical sites and museums. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. They made very good suggestions for restaurants. One drawback was having to carry luggage up one flight of stairs, but when you have the chance to stay in a medieval building, it's worth it. I would not recommend having breakfast in the hotel as it is mediocre compared to the cafes close by. again that is a personal choice. We would stay again.

Central Florence but noisy.

Posted 06-May-2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful.
The staff was very helpful with our parking situation and our luggage but it was a real pain to drive to since it was in the center of town. Then we had to get our bags up to the room while one of us stayed with the car. Then we had to find the parking garage and battle the tourists in the street to get out of our way whie driving. Our room was clean and big but outdated and the room was right above a school so the kids getting out of class was a real noisy racket until 6:30pm. No breakfast included and the staff leaves everyday at 1pm. I think too expensive for what you get and would opt to stay near Santa Maria Novella next time. FYI- I have been to Florence 4 times and even lived there for a year.
