Central Florence but noisy.

Posted 06-May-2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful.
The staff was very helpful with our parking situation and our luggage but it was a real pain to drive to since it was in the center of town. Then we had to get our bags up to the room while one of us stayed with the car. Then we had to find the parking garage and battle the tourists in the street to get out of our way whie driving. Our room was clean and big but outdated and the room was right above a school so the kids getting out of class was a real noisy racket until 6:30pm. No breakfast included and the staff leaves everyday at 1pm. I think too expensive for what you get and would opt to stay near Santa Maria Novella next time. FYI- I have been to Florence 4 times and even lived there for a year.

Dream Stay

Posted 27-Jan-2014 on Hotels.com
We were upgraded to the gold room. It was a huge apartment that looked directly in to The Square. We had views of the Duomo from our bed. Costanza was very helpful, both before we arrived and during our stay. We had a magical experience, we couldn't be happier. Thank you ladies.

o.k. hotel but great location

Posted 31-Oct-2012
Pros: location
Cons: the price and ammenities were
Location: right in the middle of the square and was the best for seeing the museum or anthing else in Florence. 15 minutes walking to the train station
Location, location, location is the best description for this hotel. It was located right on the square and was close to everything. Setting that aside, my wife and I thought the hotel was overpriced. The drinks in the minibar were expired-2011. The shampoo came in a small packet, no conditioner and no lotion. The staff was very friendly but were only onsite between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm and the location of the hotel was very difficult to find. If you arrive after 1:00, you must call them and someone will meet you. The bummer was the church bells which is located right next to you and so you will hear this every hour. We were exhausted so only heard it slightly and went right back to sleep.

Good location, no staff, don't ever drive there

Posted 14-Oct-2012
The location of the hotel is great for walking and as a hub for exploring, so if you are booking on location alone, this is a good pick. Summary - don't drive there, no staff, series of minor frustrations that added up to a relatively poor experience. First, we made the mistake of trying to park our rental car nearby, which was a disaster. Google directions provided by the hotel were in 3 separate documents and in Italian, which was really dumb. We mistakenly thought that we didn't need all 3 documents, as it doesn't make sense to separate them. Luckily we also had other google directions, but they were wrong too, leading to a 3 hour journey where we ditched our car early at the airport and just cabbed it back from the rental car return. There isn't actually any staff for the hotel, so there's no one to call a cab or help with any questions or needs. The outside buzzer worked, but if not, there was a 15 digit phone number to call we wouldn't have been able to if no one answered the budget given no phone abroad. To get into the hotel, since there's no staff, another 6 digit number needed to be saved. In other words, it was a decent amount of work just to get in and ensure we could use the hotel. As we were checking out before 10:30am, we needed to scan and email our passports which added to the time spent. Beds were hard, but that's standard for Italy. The internet had a frustrating ~20 char password, which is awful for any mobile device.

great location but

Great location, stairs to first floor lift a little cumbersome. Accused of putting pen ink on quilt cover and charged €20,completely false and had refunded but spoiled the experience greatly. In essence very central, but then Florence isn't huge, you could.do better for the same money .

Great Value and Best Location

Posted 13-Jul-2012 on Hotels.com
I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence! It is right in the middle of the one of the busiest and most scenic squares of Florence and is practically connected to the Uffizi Museum. The hotel is a charming throwback, but with a modern bathroom, free internet and clean rooms. The staff was very nice and helpful with restaurant and tour suggestions. They even took our laundry, 2 weeks worth, and dropped it back off on the same day for $15 Euros. You won't find a better deal!

Great location for Florence

Posted 30-May-2012 on Hotels.com
The staff was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. This hotel has a great location for Florence, located in a main Piazza. The restrooms were excellent, and any requests were met with a smile by the staff. However, does not have breakfast or coffee included with stay ... must order or go out for that.

April 2012 visit

Posted 16-Apr-2012
Pros: Location was in the heart of key sights.
Cons: Breakfast not included or easliy available. Was a little uncomfortable with heat at night and was told AC could not be used until May.
Location: Perfect for seeing the sights or just strolling.
Spent two nights at the hotel. Staff was very friendly and were patient when We were having problems traveling from Venice to Florence. They helped with locating parking for the rental car and places to eat. Location is prime for being close to the Square and key sights. Only real complaint is that no breakfast Is provided. You can order to be delieverd, but just having some coffee, juices and snacks available would get guests at least started for the day. Again, location was awesome and staff was friendly and spoke English enough to give advice.
