“Excellent hotel”

The hotel itself is we'll furnished and well presented, with the Mona Lisa room itself (a room full of alternative images of the Mona Lisa) being worth a visit. It is also very well located, being close to all of the major attractions in Florence. The thing that made this stay so amazing was the staff though, who were very helpful and willing to chat. Each day for us started with one of the women who ran the hotel suggesting an itinerary and drawing the locations on a map. One word of warning: this is a dog-friendly hotel. We didn't even notice until our fourth day there when a Louie Vuitton bag at the neighboring breakfast table barked at us (there were two Chihuahuas in there) but apparently they get big dogs there as well. No problem for me or my wife as we both love dogs, but could put some people off.

“A beautiful, typically Tuscan hotel”

I was amazed that the photographs on the website were almost an exact duplicate of the actual hotel. Staff was helpful in every way, lemon trees, flowers in the garden were maintained beautifully. Would definitely stay at the Monna Lisa again.

“Very Good Hotel”

Visited Feb 09 for 4 nights. Everything about our stay at the Monna Lisa Hotel was good. The room was clean and comfortable with a good en-suite bathroom with shower. Only quibble was that the room was dark as the windows were high and rather small. Buffet Breakfast was good with an excellent selection of cheese, cold meats, fresh and preserved fruit, jams and different types of bread. Reception staff friendly and helpful with good English. Adequate Gym room. Beautiful Courtyard Garden which will be lovely in Spring and Summer. Only use Bar once --tea was a bit pricey but comparable with sit downs in cafes.

“A real taste of Florence”

This is my second visit to the Monna Lisa in Florence. What I love about this hotel is that even without stepping out into the centre of Florence (the location is excellent), you get a real taste of Florence. The beautiful buildings have masses of history, terracotta tiled floors, and art-filled interiors, characterful rooms, and a beautiful courtyard garden filled with Tuscan pots and jasmine. Some may find the rooms a bit quirky and they don't have masses of drawers for clothes, but there is usually a big cupboard and the bathrooms are well equipped and attractive with good showers and baths. If anything is missing or needs doing - our beds needed to be changed from a double to a twin for instance - it was no problem. The staff are very cheerful and very helpful. You get a really generous buffet breakfast here too - again a beautiful dining room and when it is warm there are tables in the garden too. I would love to go back again

“Awesome hotel!”

It was a beautiful place to stay - an old castle turned monastery, turned hotel. There were monna lisa's all over the place! The breakfast was delicious, down to the smallest detail of making a foam heart in my cappacchino. The service was great, staff very pleasant and more than willing to help us or chat with us. They seemed to care alot and I felt like I was special! It was a very home like place. Each day they helped us map out things we wanted to see and made reservations when we needed them. Everything was wonderful. It is located very close to most things and there are many wonderful places to eat that are near, and they suggested great restaurants. I cannot say enough about the staff. They were great! The room was very clean and each day we got clean towels and sheets and a daily paper. The bathroom was furnished with all things needed and things were checked and replaced daily. I loved the breakfast! The coffee, cheese and fruit was so wonderful! Fresh juice and a bar open for night caps with a wonderful bartender who would sit and chat if you wanted to! There was a computer available to use if you purchased cards at the desk as well. Exploring the hotel was great - each room was an adventure. We felt like we left friends when it was time to go home!

We were accomodated in the old part of the hotel. wonderful relaxing atmosphere friendly attentive staff would definetly stay again. Very close to all sights easy walking distance

“Once a palace and still a palace.”

Mona Lisa is a beautiful hotel that was originally a palace and remains luxurious with original and replica art works and beautiful rooms. Not at all stuffy though with bits of humour like the Mona Lisa sitting area with lots of 'takes' of the painting including one with a cat and one with far less clothing than the original. There were really thoughtful touches like the box in the bathroom with useful bits and pieces and the staff were kind, helpful and very welcoming.

“V Good 4 star Hotel”

Was slightly worried at a number of negative reviews about the staff but we both found them helpful and extremely friendly. Hotel is in a great location 10 minutes walk max from the Duomo. Great hotel and would recomend to friends and would certainly go back when we return to Florence.

“Definitely recommend this hotel”

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Great central location and quiet. Our room was small but very pretty and overlooked lovely garden. Bathroom was ridiculously small! but rest of hotel made up for this small criticism.
