“One of the best in Florence”
A beautiful hotel with a wonderful full breakfast buffet which we ate in the garden area. The room was very spacious with all the amenities you could ask for. The staff was very nice and helpful.
“A good hotel, but not great.”
This hotel did have it's pros and cons. The price was right for our trip, and it is a Best Western, not a Four Seasons. It's close to the train station, and there are several good restaurants close by for a quick bite. The room was adequate, but not a lot of frills. No conditioner in the room, but shampoos, etc... The air conditioning was good, which was a plus for us (it was very hot while we were there). Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance, so the hotel location was great. The staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was very good. I enjoyed having breakfast each morning outside in the courtyard. There are plenty of little stores nearby to pick up water, snacks, etc... for the room. We didn't roam around at night too much, but I'm not sure I would have stayed here if I had wanted to experience the nightlife of Florence. The hotel was a bit rundown, but that was mostly the common areas and the carpet in the hallways of the hotel. The internet wasn't bad, and you could use it in your room, which was nice. All in all, a good place, in a good location for the price.
“Well worth considering”
Great location and only a 5 minute walk from the train station. The hotel was lovely, although quite old fashioned in style. The breakfast area - and the outside courtyard was just lovely with very helpul and friendly staff. The breakfast itself was ok with a nice choice of pastries. The bedroom was a reasonable size although a bit gloomy with dark carpets, bedcovers etc. Not a hotel for those who like a modern contemporary look. Sheets changed daily which was lovely.
“Excellent mid range hotel in Florence”
The Rivoli was in a superb location if you travel by bus or train as it's 5 minutes walk from the station. it is also only approx 10 minutes walk into the main area for shops and restaurants, of which there are many. The location was safe and had some character. All the staff were most helpful in every aspect and were very friendly with good english language skills. The rooms were of a good size and kept very clean. The breakfast is only average although a limited cooked option of scrambled egg, bacon and sausage is included , so not bad for a continental hotel although the breakfast room can get fairly busy at peak times. Overall a more than satisfactory choice for our stay in Florence.
“Good hotel good location”
A very nice hotel in a good location. Central for most sites and only 5 minutes from the railway station. Front desk were very helpful and requests were dealt with promptly. Clean, comfortable and well maintained. Only complaint was the bathroom is small.
“Good hotel in convenient position”
Excellent hotel, clean, wee appointed, good service. Short walk into main attractions. Nice to have a jacuzzi to dip in to after hot day sightseeing. Staff very helpful and friendly.
“Not impressed”
This hotel provide nice breakfast, the staffs are nice. But don't think this is a 4 star, especially the hardware part. Due to this experience, I'm not confident for Best Western Chain. Here are something I don't like: 1)Location: close to train station and not nice. Florence is a compact city, so you can find a nicer neighborhood, which you still can walk to train station. 2)Washroom is weird, they use open shower screendoor but this definetely can't stop the water flood into the floor. 3)Lining (the bedsheets, curtain, floor carpet, etc) are too old. 4) Room lighting is energy saving as too white.
“Bargain modern near the heart of Florence”
We were very surprised by the amenities this hotel offered, although I understand that not all rooms are as large nor have a small terrace. The hotel restaurant was one of the best in Florence and the Hot Tub, terrace and common areas were an unadvertised bonus. We booked it as part of a "tour" through Expedia and would book it again if we return.
“Excellent Hotel”
Very friendly, helpful staff, nice room with a view of the courtyard. Bed linen changed each day. Bar prices not outrageous. Very handy for the bus/rail station and for all the major places of interest.
“I will strongly recommed this great hotel to anyone who visit Florence”
It is my 7th city in Europe. This hotel is a great place to be if you visit the beautiful Florence, excellent location close to Train Station and to the meeting place square for most of the excursion, large, huge room for european standard, excellent and new bathroom, very nice, frindely and cooperative FrontDesk staff(most of the days), Restaurant and Bar staff, good breakfast with the BEST Cappuccino Coffee in Italy. I will definitively come back.
