“Cheap hotel in an dying city”

I came to Detroit for the auto show, as I was a photographer for an auto website. For this hotel, I booked it because my budget is limited and it's the first time I went there and I wanted to stay there for a comparativelu long time, 5 days. But remember, never go to Detroit city without driving or renting a car there. This hotel is located on the edge of the downtown but you can barely catch a bus to it or from it. Even in the downtown, you may still find it quite hard to catch a bus or go to somewhere out of downtown. This hotel did not change my towel and never made bed for me. It doesn't offer a cattle so I can't drink anything except the bottled water bought from the vendor machine on the first floor. Buy it in a market around it? Forget about it! You have no nearby markets! Every street is empty and horribly dark at night. The good thing about this hotel is it still has hot water and a bath tub so after a day of walking( i have no choice but walk to anywhere I wanna go), i can bath. But you have to buy( i don't know where though) your own toothpaste and body wash cuz they only provide you typical cheap hotel soap and shampoo.

“Dirty and scary”

This place is in the "hood" and you are always looking over you shoulder. The parking lot is gated, but that just makes it harder to get out fast if you had to. The room was ok although the bathroom was nasty. The floor had hair everywhere and smelled really bad.

“Don't waste your mony”

Not the safest area in the city. Corridores dirty and smells of cigarets. Room is reasonable size and furneture is fine but not very clean sheets.I asked for an iron and they told me it is in the washing room at level one, I went and I found the room in a big miss. The iron wasn't working and the iron table is may be broken. I didn't use it. The receptionists are friendly.

“sloppy rooms and maintenance”

I checked into a Corktown in a room on the first floor. What I noticed is that they had a sign wanting customers to pay for use of internet service. The clerk told me to ignore it. They had problems with people staying on the internet for hours. The hotel room was nasty. There was gook on the phone and it did not work. There were no instructions on how to use it nor were there a manual for the television. Mainly what channels were available. I did notice some free porn on channel 22 or 23. The air conditioning was working but the toilet was nasty and had not been cleaned. The clerk did not give me good instructions on how to get to the fox theatre. I decided to stick it out. After I came back from the concert I noticed a bed bug on a sheet. I went to the clerk and she gave me a room on the 4th floor. Guess what? The air conditioning did not work at all. I did not get much sleep. I got up early to go to the greyhound station which was 2 blocks away. The clerk gave me a ride and tried to apologize. He wondered if I would come back. Not a chance. Top things off they had people sleeping down the street near a Burger King.

“Never again”

This hotel was awful! I have never had a problem with my previous trips booked with Expedia. However, this place was a nightmare. I originally had a 2 night reservation; however, I left after one short night. Wednesday night after the Tigers game and the casino, we arrived at the hotel at 2am. The parking lot was covered with 4 police cars, 2 ambulances, glass, and blood on the ground. I felt like I walked into a First 48 Hours episode. I asked the woman behind the bullet proof glass desk, if I should be concerned. Her rude reply was, that has nothing to do with you and started talking on her phone. The hotel was dirty, the room smelled like urine. I didn't take off my shoes. The bed was hard; I didn't pull back the covers. I slept with a hooded sweatshirt, fearing that I may get lice or bed bugs. I recommend that Expedia removes this hotel listing.

“Stay away.”

Do not stay here. A total dump. The vending machines have woman's panties in them. Think about why that is.

“The nighmare in room 336”

When I originally checked into the hotel the room it appeared to be clean and descent for the price. It wasn't until I returned to my room after a late night (approx 11:30-12am) snack run to the lobby's vending machine is when my trip turned into a nightmare. I flipped the light switch and thought I saw something crawl across the bed when I tried to find out what it was and couldn't find it I started to blow it off, but because of all the horror stories I heard about bedbugs I shifted in OCD mode. I turned the heat up in the room to full blast and went through each piece of clothing and items in my bags and purse one by one (with a fine tooth combs -so to speak) in the bathroom. I inspected each piece one by one shaking out everything in the tub and refolding them, before finally repacking them. During the coarse of this I saw the BEDBUG again. I immediately got one of the complimentary cups off the table and scooped him up inside. Then I took my bags to the car and took him to the lady at the front desk at approx. 5am. The hotels personal idea of customer service was to switch my room from 336 to 409 and extending my check out time from 11 am to 3 pm. Being sleep deprived and no where else to go I stayed but I was so noded I couldn't sleep. I got maybe 2 hrs before I couldn't take it anymore and decided to checked out at approx 9:30 -10am the next morning. The morning's hotel's attendant ended up giving me a $20 cash refund out of a $54 per night price. It was horrible!!!!!!
