Three Night Stay - October 2014.

Posted 20-Oct-2014
Excellent location about 2 blocks away from Plaza de Armas. The initial reception was excellent, bags were quickly taken care of and we were led to the reception area while they did the computer entries on the reservation. We stayed in a one bedroom suite, it was a good size and very clean. No problems with heat, A/C etc. The bed was fantastic, very comfortable, and the black out curtains on the drapes were the best I've ever used, great for sleeping in. We did not hear any noise from adjacent rooms or the hallway, generally speaking it is a very quiet hotel since most people are out doing tours during the day. The only cons were reception not answering one day, and a little confusion with our drycleaning - nothing major. Personally I would skip the hotel restaurant for breakfast and head to a smaller cafe such as Greens. The breakfast was typical buffet although with excellent pastries, however the price was triple what you would pay a couple blocks away, with equally excellent food. Checkout was smooth and they arranged for a nice car at a very reasonable price. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if in Cusco.

A wonderful gem!!

Posted 20-Oct-2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Rooms are spacious (we got upgraded) and spotless but it is "old world" - if you like "contemporary" - this may not be your scene.
Location: In the heart of Cusco - minutes walk to sites and restaurants.
This is first rate - from location to property to staff. We spent 3 nights before an Inka Trail trek and then a final night before heading home. I cannot comment enough on how great the staff was. Restaurant and bar are also good but getting a bill is a bit of a wait. We would definitely staff here again.

Great hotel!

Posted 15-Oct-2014
Pros: Beautiful gardens, spacious suites, incredible concierge service.
Cons: Don't change a thing
Location: Across the street from Temple of the Sun, 15 mins walk to Plaza des Armas, 15 min drive to airport.
Hotel is located across the street from the Temple of the Sun and 15 min walk to Plaza des Armas and city center. The hotel staff is exception as are the rooms and facilities. This hotel is a luxury property from SPG and no luxury is spared during your stay. The hotel bar and restaurant have great menus, food and drink options.

It was quite an experience here,it was a palace of an Inka king and the architecture is great. The staff is great and they make you feel important and are at your beck and call at all times.I'd like to thank "Roger" at the concierge desk who really practices hospitality.

Charming and comfortable with excellent service

Posted 18-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Great hotel...right across from one of the major sites...yet quiet. Fine service in all regards. 10-12 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas. They easily arranged a car and driver (Arturo was wonderful) to Ollantaytambo, and were helpful in all regards. (They do need to provide a better map of Cusco). It is about a 10 minute walk (going left out of the hotel) to the Ministerio de Cultura, just off the Avenida de Cultura (one block beyond the Pecsa gas station - go right into the small street and you will see the 'hidden' office) to get advanced tickets to Machu Picchu (bring your passport and train tickets and credit card or soles).

Nice hotel not quite 5 star

Posted 12-Aug-2014
Pros: great location
Cons: staff could be a bit too much in their desire to serve
We were lucky to get upgraded to a junior suite. The hotel staff was very nice and professional but almost a bit much. The hotel is huge so we had to walk a while to get to the lobby. It is well located and generous with bottled water, turndown service, etc.

Good location and impressive building although a bit too rambly.
