“Really Good Value”
For what we paid, this hotel was great - however there are a few points that should be made: -Make sure you book transfers before you arrive from airport to hotel as the hotel is 1 hour taxi ride from the airport and if you have no pre-arranged transfer then is only 1 local bus to that side of the island per day! -Beach and water and view from the hotel is amazing....so so lovely and made our holiday -The all inclusive food was good for what we paid, however it does get a bit same same and seems a bit like a school dining hall at times. We ended up eating out a bit -Staff were not particularly friendly or helpful - one was actually quite rude -Beds were hard and were 2 singles pushed together (common in EU) -Amazing location right next to the beach with Loungers and lovely clear water -Loads of Kids and families Overall we had a nice holiday - there were things that could be improved, however for what we paid we were happy.
“Hotel by the sea”
The hotel was better than anticipated. This was a cheap last minute booking and we could not have been more pleased. All age groups catered for. Range of food at mealtimes was good - healthy eating combined with stodge if desired! Hotel very close to a sandy beach. Three pools including a small one for tiny children. Couldn't see much to do if the weather was bad without the benefit of a car. The local shops consisted of tourist shops selling beach stuff and supermarkets. A bit far from the airport but worth it.
“Lovely hotel, would go back, excellent location.”
We have just returned from hotel americia. and had 11 fantastic days. The hotel was spotless clean, fresh towels and linen everyday. There are three swimming pools 2 for the adults and one childs pool. the only downside they were cold, but after laying in the sun thats just what you needed, the beach was only a short walk down some steps and it was perfect, clear blue sea. The mini disco was great for the kids (my 3 year old had a brill time) and during the day there was pleny going on for all ages. For all inclisive the food was pretty good, there was lots of choice, so something for everyone. Snack bar and pizzia place open all day, and very tasty!! Our room was in the annex just a 2 min walk from the main hotel. couldnt ask for a better room, very big, with a great view. The town was just a short walk away. We had a very nice stay at this hotel, and yes we would recommed to familys and youg couples.
“Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. Would definately go back.”
I have just come back from the Hotel America, there was 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 teenagers and we have had a lovely holiday. I am so pleased the hotel was situated on a stunning headland the breeze was a welcome relief when sitting around the pool area. Plenty of sun loungers but a few more umbrellas needed. The resort itself is small with only a few shops selling the same things, touristy and beach things but I don't go on holiday to shop I can do that at home. Although the little village does have a crazy golf which we did spend a fun afternoon in if you get sick of swimming, the beach or just relaxing around the pool. The food in the hotel was good and there was a lot of variation. There was something for everyone. The pizzeria was good, the pizzas were made fresh! We tried the BBQ one night which was lovely, we sat on the grass terrace and looked over the bay while we had our food, very peaceful. The "tiny barman" does only serve 3 drinks at a time, for whatever reason, but the rest of the staff working in the pool bar were very helpful and pleasant. Drinks were served in plastic glasses around the pool area, but I think the reason for that is self explanitory. All the staff in the hotel work very hard and were pleasant at all times. Try getting that in England!!! The entertainment was poor, the BINGO ha ha, perhaps that was the entertainment?? Yeah it was a bit like "Hi Di HI", all part of the fun. I enjoyed my holiday at this hotel and would definately go back.
“I liked it”
Was very good holidad for me and my friends.
“Good clean hotel for the money”
When I arrived the receptionist dealt with me quickly, when I got to my room I was disappointed to find the balcony opened on to a roof. I asked to change rooms but as I'd arrived late evening I was told to come back to speak to the manager in the morning. I realised also the room was 'smoking' as I could smell the smoke from the room next door. So the next morning I asked to change rooms giving my reasons but was told as I was on my own all the 'single occupancy' rooms were on the first floor. She also said all the rooms were 'smoking' even though I had booked a 'non smoking' room. As I was only staying for 4 nights I left it at that. I was slightly peeved when they charged me 19.50 euros for the safety deposit box for 3 days, the charge for a week is 25 euros! I disputed this but again got no where. All that being said, the food and drink was pretty good and much better than I expected. It was all inclusive so really didn't need to spend any money during my stay. The swimming pool was a good size and there were plenty of sun loungers, also it was just a few steps down to the beach. Very good for a short break. They also had entertainment every evening so was great for families. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would consider going there again, although I rarely go to the same place twice!
“Decent value: but unhelpful staff”
On the plus side, the location is stunning with magnificent views and direct access to a good beach; the restaurant food was also exceptionally good - particularly when the price of the all inclusive room rate was taken into consideration. The bars were adequate and largely without queues. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. On the negative side: do not book a family room unless you can be guaranteed one of their larger rooms. Putting two extra beds in a small double room is not making a family room. Also the supervisory staff were inflexible and unhelpful. A small boy, playing with a ball by their 'stored' water polo net was told to stop, despite the fact that no-one was being inconvenienced and no damage was being done. The Dining room manager showed severe displeasure when a group of 6 pushed two tables together to enable them to eat together. Her displeasure was also incurred if you pulled aside the net curtains so that you could enjoy the view. There would have been adequate space in the dining room, but the annex side was closed, leaving an overcrowded restaurant area. Presumably it remained closed for the convenience of the staff - despite being an inconvenience to their guests. All in all, it was good value and a fantastic location - if supervisory staff attitudes were changed it would be great value.
“Great place to stay with family”
It's a very nice hotel with a great view over the sea. Comfortable for a family. Nice staff, very good food.
“Good value for money”
The Hotel is set in a quieter part of town, but that does not mean you are far from the center, it's just a short walk. The beach is on your door step, but there are a few steps to negociate. The beach is clean and safe, charges for a sun bed is a bit expensive tho'. Food in the hotel is varied and there is lots of it, Hotel staff are pleasent and helpful, rooms are clean and tidy. Hope to go back.
“Felt like a school camp - not recom. for short stay”
service was great - all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is not that great and there are far better places to stay on the island. Food was ok - but tended to be boring and repetative. Pool closes really early - like 5 or 6pm? Has free wifi in lobby :) Rooms and hotel in general looked like it was starting to fall apart (our door was falling apart) reminded me of a school camp. Rooms are def. more like a 2 or lower star - but have TV and aircon. The staff/service helped make this trip for us the hotel itself.. quite basic and would def. not recommend this place for just a long weekend.
