Arrived in the dark on a rainy evening. Reception was excellent and helpful, room was adequate if a little chilly, but a visit to reception soon remedied this as I was given a fan heater - lovely.
Receptionist Sophie gave us some history of this lovely hotel and really could not have been more interested in our personal comfort.
Breakfast was excellent with fresh squeezed orange juice um! hot and cold food, great array of breads.

This hotel is under new ownership and is being refurbished; I suspect that once refurbishment is completed, the hotel will become a firm favourite with Expedia clients.
A warm welcome at reception, very willing staff, clean bedroom, large bathroom and very reasonably priced.
The less than excellent rating for facilities is based on the fact that the previous owners of the hotel appear to have allowed the place to degenerate into a state of disrepair, but with the current refurbishment programme being undertaken by the new owners, this situation will surely be rectified.

The hotel was being refurbished in part but the location was fantastic, there was secure parking to the rear, the staff were incredible helpful and the hotel was charming although a bit shabby around the edges which we liked.
