"This is a lovely place to stay. We were well looked after, my gluten free dietary needs were catered for and the staff were very accommodating. The house is old so we expected that the rooms might be ‘quirky’ but we had a dangerous fault with our shower that could have resulted in serious scalding incident. We have informed the managers so they can deal with it. Dinner was 5* as you’d expect in a place with a chef of this calibre - wine and port also excellent. Pricey, but not excessive....

"Our room at the top of the building was spacious, well-lit, clean, attractive, and offered a partial view of the castle (pretty at night). The large bed was very comfortable. The heated towel rack in the bathroom was excellent. We appreciated being able to open a window to get fresh air. For the first few days of our stay we were only able to get luke warm water in the bathroom. However, as soon as we reported the problem it was fixed immediately.
