An amazing YHA at the foot of the Miners Track to Snowdon!
Loved this location nestled at the pass of the Welsh Mountains!
Everyone was super friendly and accommodating, the food was delish and so easy to get over to Snowdon!
Remember to buy your parking ticket in advance.
Loved my stay and I look forward to coming back…
Have stayed here several times. It’s always welcoming and everyone is friendly. I turned up very late this time and they phoned to make sure I was on the way and to make sure I knew the check in times and also made sure I knew it was icy in the car park. Rooms as clean, warm and functional. Was very happy once again, with my stay.
Fantastic location across the road from Snowdon Mountain. We parked a few miles away for £15. For the entire weekend and then took the Sherpa bus to the front of the hostel. Great food. Loved it. Clean and warm.

For those wanting to explore North Wales, YHA Pen y Pass is a really good location to stay.
Advantage: The location. The room was ok. Mattresses, beddings were comfortable.
However the bunkbed is can be quite challanging/uncomfortable if someone tall just like my husband. He hit his head many times during our stay.
We could hear noises such cracking floor as walking above floor or people coming or going and slammed the door. But again this is a hostel and for the price and the location may need to sacrifice from your comfort.
The breakfast was a good portion. Other options e.g. vegan, gluten free.... available.
Staff are helpful and kind.
Disadvantage: no free or discounted parking with the booking. A bit overpriced as almost the same price what I paid for the room. BUT it is convenient, next to the hostel and all night has a parking officer there.
Staff is helpful and lovely, property is right next to 2 mountain trails so extremely convenient; also right next to carpark so extremely accessible via public transport (one bus from rail station to and fro, as well as bus to Llanberis should you wish to explore the village). Rooms are clean, cosy, and warm. Shared shower has warm water, but would recommend bringing your own slippers to wear while in shower. Overall a super healing trip with breathtaking views - YHA making the experience comfortable and convenient.
I love this hostle. Its so convenient. Its clean. Its got great transport links via the bus system .
Its got great food on site, bar , menu and breakfast all great.
Bathrooms and communal kitchen all also clean and functional . Great to have.
Parking can be a expensive but options to park locally and bus but make sure you check the timetables.
Its simple but clean and convenient
We’ve been using this Youth Hostel for at least 7 years but the last few times we’ve all commented on how tired and grubby it’s gotten.
We love the location and the staff are very friendly but it’s time to close it for a few weeks and refurbish it because if it gets worse we will start looking for other places to stay.
Amazing stay, might aswell be a hotel! Service was great, it was clean and the beds were very comfy! Very welcoming and great amenities. Will definitely stay again!
