“Overall: Great...One negative”

First, this isn't 5-star, so we didn't expect 5-star. That said, we were very pleased. Extremely convenient to downtown Boston by T (transit system), safe & quiet neighborhood, free(!) parking, prompt & friendly front desk staff, efficient check-in/check-out, adequate hot/cold breakfast, comfortable bed, and enough space to relax. DOWNSIDE: Carpet could have used deep cleaning (but it was vacuumed). SPECIAL MENTION: Embarrassingly, we clogged the toilet. Our call to the front desk brought the clerk, plunger in hand, in less than five minutes. He plunged, left the plunger "in case you run into another problem", patted me on the shoulder, and returned to his desk duties. Kudos! We would definitely stay here again.

Area recommendations
Greater Boston is for history buffs, art - music - entertainment - sports - nature lovers, shoppers, people watchers...what's not to like? Generally, I like small towns and rural areas, but the Boston region has enough open space to keep me happy (Arnold Arboretum, Boston Commons, Blue Hills Reservation, Plum Island's Parker River National Park, Cape Ann and much more), PLUS all the intellectual (museums, colleges, galleries, theater, concerts from classical & opera to punk & hiphop, etc.), gustatory (North End for Italian, Chinatown, delicatessens, plus every other ethnic food you can desire), teams (Celtics, Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox, BU, BC, Hahvahd...), museums (art, American & local history & culture, glass flowers, musical instruments, science...you name it.), tours (self-guided Freedom Trail, Duck Boats, Harbor Islands, etc.) and other resources/events/distractions to keep anyone wishing for more time and energy. (In case you haven't guessed, I like Boston.)

“satisfying service for reasonable price.”

I was satisfied with everything except for the location. It was quite far from schools like Harvard and MIT but if you are aiming at BU or BC, it can be a viable option.

“Cheapest in the area-- still expensive for what you get”

This wasn't a terrible place, but for the price, it's a motel-- and that's just crazy. If you can afford the extra money-- stay in a different place. If you can't, then maybe stay somewhere else if you can commute in and out of the city.

“Good value for decent location”

This was a decently priced hotel that was close to transportation to downtown Boston. Parking was free which was a bonus. The rooms were a bit outdated, but generally clean.

“Great Proximity to Boston College Family Members”

This is my second stay at this hotel because of the proximity to Boston College. There's is complimentary breakfast and the customer service is very polite. We will keep coming back.

Getting there
Getting There is cheap and easy. From the airport take the green T line destination Boston College. You can get off on the Washington Street stop, go up hill and the hotel is located behind the gas station.

“Not sure I'd rebook”

The best part of this hotel is that it's on the T, which makes it an inexpensive snap to get to downtown. But it's like this hotel is stuck in the 90's--amenities outdated, non-sound-proofed walls, poor windows, small bathroom. The staff was wonderful, though, but I'll still be looking closer to downtown for my next stay in Boston.

Dining
Bamboo Thai Resteraunt delivers to this hotel, and is within a very short walk toward Washington St. VERY good food at a great price!

“Okay for a discount stay near Boston”

Stayed for 2 nights at the hotel. The staff was very efficient, but this should be considered a motel., and a few clicks up from an hourly rental.

Area recommendations
Brookline - great restaurants, shopping, exciting/safe neighorhood

“Easy on and off the Green Line”

I was attending Boston University's Alumni weekend with my 16 yo son. We only stayed one night until our rooms at a Kenmore Square B&B were ready. We reserved a king suite w/soafabed. When we checked in, the front desk guy said, "We had to upgrade you to a suite." (???) However, the suite was great with plenty of room with a kitchenette. I knew the area in college, but it's much improved with restaurants and Whole Foods Market w/in walking distance. The room was very clean, TV's in BR & LR extra blankets. For the $$, this was a good choice. It was an easy trolley ride from the Airport & back down to campus. When you get off at the T stop, you do have to haul your luggage up a HUGE hill on Comm Ave.. Recommend this hotel for location, privacy and free breakfast and involuntary exercise.

Getting there
Easy access to the City from the Airport.
Getting around
Public transportation from Chestnut Hill to Back Bay. Zip cars are everywhere. Recommend them highly.

“Pleasantly surprised”

I recently went to Boston for a visit after having formerly lived nearby Brookline. I chose this hotel because of it was in my price range and was much closer/more convenient to Boston/in a safer neighborhood than other similar places, but I was skeptical due to the relatively low price. I was very happy with my stay. Location: While this hotel is not in the center of the city, it is about a block away from a T stop that will take you downtown. (15-20 min ride?) The neighborhood does not have much (other than a great tapas restaurant, Tasca) from a tourist point of view, but it is very safe (mostly full of students and recent grads) and it might be somewhat confusing if you aren't from the area but it is a great location. VERY convenient to BU and BC. Hotel details: Free continental breakfast, free parking, fridge and microwave in the room. Good enough for me. Slight downsides: Hotel rooms open to the outside instead of being enclosed/in a hallway. It was a little noisy, but not a big deal. The carpets were a little worn and it was clear that it wasn't the newest hotel. Again, didn't bother me but might be an issue for someone else. Conclusion: A great place to stay if you are looking for a home base to stay and take the T in and out of Boston during the day. I would definitely consider staying there again and have recommended it to family members who have kids in college in the area and need places to stay.

Area recommendations
I would advise travelers to stay clear of hotels that are south of Boston, particularly near the JFK library or BU Medical Center based on safety. I would recommend staying anywhere in Boston itself, Cambridge, or areas to the west of the city.
