The grounds were beautiful, overlooking a flowing river and a gorgeous wooded area. The walk to the quaint town of Peebles was fabulous. Indeed, I can think of NOTHING of this one night experience for us that was amiss. We had the whole castle to ourselves. The accommodations were more than comfortable. Location to shops and restaurants is ideal and street it is on is very quiet. We bring our bikes, so the bike store is a great facility for us to have access to. "Welcoming staff and lovely building. Dinner was great but the breakfast was poor and I couldn't eat it. Never seen poached so hard, mattress on the bed was pretty 'used' with a big dip in it so not the most comfortable for the money. They also charged my card for 50% of my booking 2 days before our stay without permission and the balance on the arrival day rather than 'pay at property' which was how the booking was made. I then had to chase up the invoices. "
