"Four of us stayed at Carina and Victor’s cottage over the bank holiday weekend. We were taking part in the Edinburgh marathon festival. They were so accommodating and welcoming upon our arrival, Victor showed us around and was incredibly friendly. The cottage is beautifully designed and furnished - the photos don’t do it justice! There’s a lovely private patio which would be wonderful during summer, unfortunately we had a lot of rain. They had milk in the fridge for us and also some tunnocks...

"Good for family (2 adults, 4 kids). Good location, 30 minute walk or 10-15 minute bus ride to the city centre. Clean apartment, some initial struggle with the front door key ‘technique’ but the video was helpful, could’ve done with a few more kitchen utensils / oven trays for self catering. Overall good, would stay again. "

None measured up and that was only based on the images. The pictures undersold the property, utterly. The Garden House became a serendipitous highlight of our trip to Edinburgh. The location, setting, layout, preparation, standards, provisions were are excellent. The setting within Oxenford Castle...

"We wanted to take our parents back to an area we love with fond memories and that of course was Fife. We needed a cottage big enough for four, spacious and all the essentials. Sleeping six, we found it in Kilconquhar, a short throw from Elie, Anstruther, even St Andrews and yet peaceful enough to sit on a night and read a book. Two bathrooms/toilets, a dining area more than adequate and of course a big enough kitchen to practice ones favourite pastime! What was there not to like?"

"Lovely, cosy, comfortable stay with easy access to beach and plenty of wildlife to spot. Cottage was well equipped and Ross and Helen were great hosts."

"After a long drive to get there it was lovely to dump the cases and get into the hot tub. The accommodation was better than expected and we both enjoyed our stay there. We were told that the drive was a wee bit tight but other than that, no issues"

"We traveled with two kids under four, my spouse, and her parents. The apartment had tons of space and a nice patio as well. This cottage is literally built within the wall of the castle grounds. The very windows you look out to see the ocean and the sheep are built right into the wall. The walk around the property is fantastic. Beautiful rose gardens, herbs everywhere, and more apple trees than you can count. There are many walking trails just outside the castle walls as well. You will...

"Ideal location with charming village area nearby. Easy walk to local pub and to the water. Flat was spacious and well equipped; but could have used a bit more maintenance and some air freshener (near the sea, so a bit of a damp, musty smell). It was a bit farther from central Edinburg (~40 min) than I had expected; but the quaint village feel of the area was well worth the few extra minutes drive. All in all a nice place to support local sight seeing and day trips."

"Great situation, in a very friendly little village. Close to some great short walks, both Lomond Hills are within easy reach. Close to St Andrews, and the East Nook of Fife. Would love to return."
