Nicely renovated room, very quiet. The place was packed on Memorial Day weekend, parking was at a premium because about 20 spaces were blocked off by the renovation folks in the back. Close to the Quorum and "restaurant row" in Addison.
Let's just say 1st impressions are everything. It was like ok pretty decent hotel. Then, walking in wasn't greeted by anyone. The man was on the computer and half sleep at 3pm. It just didn't feel inviting and we had some issues with the initial checking-in after calling before to confirm everything was fine. Which we were told it was. Meaning we paid for the room already. Called them to ask if any other fees were needed cause after a purchase I empty my account and put into savings. And keep a little cash on me. They said nope everything was good that was the day before and the day of; Well, we ran the card and the deposit didn't go thru. It's a saturday. Oklahoma banks close at noon. So, I said can you accept cash and la di da da da. He obviously wasn't listening. So, he basically said I can have it refunded, but of course the weekend it would take a week to get put back on there. I am like really. Then, so he goes they have check cashing or check n go to where they make cards for people in there names. I'm like give me a minute hold the room. So, I was upset. We got it handled overall it just wasn't a good first impression. We went to the room it looked nice and clean, but small for a 1bedroom suite. Oklahoma suites are bigger and everything is supposed to be bigger in Texas. I don't know. Then the next day hot tub wasn't working and it took like 20 mins to wait and explain. Just say that they need 2 or 3 ppl at front at all times.
I was travelling with my wife and 3 year old son. We had a very enjoyable stay. It was clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. The staff made sure all of our needs were met. The shuttlebus service within a 3 mile radius of the hotel was excellent. Be aware that the Dallas Fort Worth area is spreadout whilst the hotel is close to the Galleria which is great for shopping you will need taxis or a hire car to see the rest of Dallas/Fort Worth. The taxi one way to Dallas down town is between $USD 40-50 and around $USD 70-80 one way to Fort Worth. The traffic during peak houŕ is horrendous i.e. 7am-9am and 4-6 pm. Also the maze of roads can be confusing. I highly recommend this hotel.
In Dallas, the Galleria Dallas is the alpha and omega of shopping. This massive, glittering complex features highbrow names such as Rolex, Versace, and Louis Vuitton. It’s easy to work up an appetite if one blazes through the mall’s three levels. Fortunately, Addison’s Beltline Road restaurant row is nearby. The cuisine of six continents is represented in Addison’s 160-plus restaurants.
