Very nice hotel, with a good size room and nice bathroom. Safe, hair dryer etc. in room. Gym and sauna if that's your thing. Didn't try food in the hotel so can't comment on that.
Hotel is in a good location, just outside main centre but not too far at all and only a 5 minute U-bahn trip to the central locations. Transport facilities make everything very accessible.
Very pleasant suite with comfortable accomodations for all 4 of us. Woman at front desk was very friendly and very helpful. The location was very close to Berlin's Hauptbahnhof, and having the entrance to the U bahn on the corner enabled us to travel all over Berlin very easily.
Stayed three nights in this lovely little central hotel for a city break. The hotel is clearly new so still has a real freshness about it. Everything was excellent including the room, staff, bar and food. Great location too. The staff deserve a special mention especially the two young blonde haired girls on reception who could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. A very positive experience of this hotel, Berlin and Germany. I regularly stay in 4 & 5 star hotels in central London & Manchester and elsewhere and really we are light years behind our continental cousins and on multiple levels.
The location of this hotel is terrible. It's pretty far from the metro and it's far from any of the sights. The hotel is clean and was reasonably priced but it's not worth it to stay so far away from everything. I would not stay here again unless I had a car or did not need to be near the sights. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was very expensive and there were no good bakeries or restaurants nearby to grab something to eat, so we waited and rode the metro to Checkpoint Charlie and got something there.
Rooms are large and comfortable, with a balcony, complete kitchen, comfortable beds and large bathroom. Smallest studio is about 30 sq meters (310 sq. ft.)
Staff are all wonderfully friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is complete and good value.
Only problem: we were in Berlin for the hottest week of the year (90-95 F) and the hotel has no air-conditioning. Most of the year this would be no problem, but it was for the week we were there. As many Berlin hotels do not have air conditioning, this could be a problem in many places.
Still, I will return to HSH Hotels for future Berlin trips. It has so many good things going for it; I'll hope for cooler weather!
