Hotel was very cozy and clean with free parking, but with an additional fee for breakfast (~16eur not sure if per person or per room as I stayed there with my wife, we, of course, didn't pay extra fee for breakfast). WiFi might be free but with terrible reception. Only got some reception at the door. Hotel is a bit far from the transportation.
Visited for 2 nights with a couple of colleagues for a business trip - had been recommended to use this hotel by our clients. Very welcoming staff despite late arrival and immediately had a positive feeling about the place. All facilities were good - from the underground car park (not full), speedy lifts, immaculate rooms with good showers, choice of breakfast options (we chose continental as it was cheaper - but was still more than adequate) and v. pleasant bar. All in all, a great base to work from.
Had to stay an extra night in Vienna after we had some car issues on our trip. Because where we were staying was booked, we had to move hotels mid morning. Reception staff had a room available and gave it to us at 10am which was very helpful considering we had an 18 month old and 3.5 yr old traveling with us.
Gave us a room on the 6th (top) floor. Room was spacious. Hotel was right across the street from the Old Palace park and zoo. Could not have been better situated. In fact, since Vienna is a little spread out and you have to work the subway/tram/taxis to see everything anyway, I would recommend staying here over where we were the previous nights especially if traveling in the summer. Courtyard had A/C which was awesome because it was pretty warm in Vienna and we were sweating all night in the previous location which did not have air con. Subway was completely easy to use and there is a stop on the corner - 2 min walk away. 15 min from really anywhere downtown.
I chose this hotel because it was close to my friend's new apartment. My room was described as a standard double but I would advise people who are not travelling alone to opt for a much more spacious room. It was fine for just me, with a decent shower, wardrobe and fridge in the room and a good sized en suite. Refurbishment is either temporary or makeshift, with painted tiles in the en suite, a wall that showed signs of wear and flimsy lampshades but the flat screen TV was a good size.
Breakfast was excellent, with a very good choice. The restaurant was also good, although pricey, and lacking in atmosphere. The place seems very geared up to hosting meetings and conferences.
The hotel has gardens, which would be lovely to walk through in better weather. Nearby, there are some interesting reminders that not so long ago Altmannsdorf was a village and there is a traditional heuriger (wine bar) close by. The hotel suited my needs, the staff were friendly and I will stay again.
