Stayed for six nights.. Hotel is brand new. Room (suite) was very spacious, beds were high and extremely comfortable. We used the separate sitting area nightly to unwind. Facilities are wonderful, except for pool which is small. Lobby is very comfortable and welcoming. Decor is modern and new. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Internet was free and fast. Refrigerator in room was small, but very useful. Convenient to Metro and bus service. We did not eat in the Hotel, but people did seem to enjoy the food and ambience, Only issue was that room cleaning was sporadic. We would definitely return to the Hotel.

This was my first time staying at this property and I have been staying in various hotels in the area for the past 2 months during my home leave before I transfer overseas, and the Virginian Suites by far is the best hotel stay I've had during my leave. It's ideally located; it's close to the Rosslyn metro which is about a 10 minute walk, or you can take the hotel complimentary shuttle that runs every 30 minutes. There are restaurants, supermarkets, and banks within walking distance. It's also close to the Foreign Service Institute and the Dept. of State for Foreign Service Officers. The staff is very accommodating and courteous and the property offers a daily complimentary breakfast and on Wednesday night there is a pizza dinner for all the residents (great for kids). Although I heard some criticism about the outdated décor, the property is extremely clean and it has a warm ambiance. I use to live in a building like this one in the late '80s in D.C. so it was a welcome flashback for me.
After weeks of eating in restaurants, it was very comforting to make my own dinner and store the leftovers in a full size refrigerator. Also for people who have sensitivities to hard water, you will be happy with the shower and water in the unit. The property must have a water softener because I had some of the best showers at this property. The bathtub is also big enough to take a comfortable bath. My only complaint about this property is that the complimentary coffee downstairs is awful.
