"Lovely stay! We got there late and the restaurant part of the bar downstairs was closing but our kind bed and breakfast owner asked them to wait a bit and feed us. The bar was fun and had a variety of British beers. Absolutely recommend it!"

"We had a couple of issues with the room. There was a leak on the tap and the bathroom vent did not work so a little steamy after a shower but we told the staff and they confirmed it would be fixed. Had a lovely lunch and dinner there and a great central place for touring the area. "

"This hotel is a pub with rooms above. It is a period building so has it's quirks but that adds to it's charm. Our room was spacious & bathroom was very clean. Other furnishings a little tired & electrics need updating as extension leads with multiple sockets pose a safety issue. Food was excellent & staff were amazing. Definitely would stay again as in a great location in town. "

"Simply stunning. Very comfy bed and a gorgeous deep bath. Excellent overnight oats in the fridge and a fantastic selection of tea and coffee. Quirky restaurant underneath with very friendly staff who serve a mean cocktail or three lol"

"Shame there was no chef! Had to get taxis to get food, otherwise the staff were amazing, felt sorry for them as think it was down to poor management (the lack of food)"

"I had a wonderful 2 night stay with my father. Booked this hotel from NewZealand. Warm Welcome , friendly staff & very unique interesting building. Views amazing from the room 302 Beautiful heritage building set in park like grounds with golf club. All staff excellent & Zoe very helpful with queries later evening ; night time."

"Service and food excellent. Room a little tired. Windows dirty and need maintenance. View over courtyard. No parking so had to pay at the carpark behind. Bit of Walk in the rain. Food was exceptional. Room could do with a little tic. "

"We were given a disability room off the car park so not in the main building. So no view of anything except a fence 18” from our window. Not sure why hotels think people with disabilities don’t need a surface to put their toiletries on in the bathroom. I find this in every room of this category we’ve stayed in. "

"The Bell is a gem if you what a traditional pub to stay very welcoming locals with good pub grub an excellent breakfast Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly Limited parking but that was fine with us Very quiet night room and bathroom good size. "

"Stayed two nights for a long weekend, perched on the edge of Highclere Castle for our visit. Quite close to the A34, but even though our room was on that side we had no traffic noise. Nice little room upstairs in the cottage next door. Breakfast was included and that was excellent. Also had two evening meals, sample photos attached. Chef is very talented. Would happily return."
