"The hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet location with stunning views of the loch from the lounge and dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful but service at evening dinner was very slow at times. The hotel is small and was built about 10 years ago. It appears to have been originally well specified at the time but, being hyper- critical, 10 years' use is starting to show up now in places. Nevertheless we would be happy to stay again, especially if the perfect weather could be...

"Enjoyed our overnight stay at the Tongadale Hotel. Second visit and going back in September. Had a meal in the restaurant, menu had a good selection, was freshly prepared and reasonably priced. Rooms clean and fresh. Breakfast could have been warmer but again good selection to choose from. Overall good value. "

"We had a great stay at the Kyle hotel. It was very clean and had all the amenities we needed as well as lots of extra room! The staff was very nice and promptly tended to any of our needs. Our stay included breakfast, which was really delicious and a bonus to have. The only complaint I could possibly say is that the bed was very uncomfortable. Other than that, this is a great place to stay, especially if you are headed across to Isle of Skye"

It was exactly as portrayed: an historic (and idiosyncratic) small inn/hotel; not fancy, very straightforward; on the water in a wonderful location; a great kitchen punching way above its weight. But the best part was its staff. Warm, genuine. I felt cared about by every staff member I interacted with. Kudos."

One night we ended up parking in a pay to park lot about 5-10 minutes walk away. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker. Still would recommend this hotel if staying in Portree."

The room has an amazing view, the bed, bathroom and everything was 'just so.' we had a great night sleep and then to top it off, the best breakfast. Thanks Maryanne! "We loved our stay here. The picture window looking over the water was beautiful. The cabin was wonderfully simple and yet held all we needed. I had tried to book it for 4 nights but it was only available for 2 when we were there. I would have gladly booked it for all 4 and if we ever return to Skye we will definitely look ahead of time to book all our nights here again. Loved its eco friendliness as well! "

"We chose Hame for its fairly central to Skye, but not-in-a-town location, and were not disappointed. The drives to and from it were stunning, the complimentary breakfast and optional dinner were top-notch, the staff was friendly, the nearby town of Dunvegan had plenty of food options, and we could day trip to hikes and sights like Point Neist & The Fairy Pools.
