A purpose-built seaside resort, Ixia lies on Rhodes' north coast, three kilometres from Rhodes Town, and 11 from the airport. Along the coastal road is a string of large hotels set in landscaped grounds with pools. The long, narrow pebble beach is equipped with sunloungers, umbrellas and water sports facilities. Thanks to the north wind, windsurfing is popular here.
