Terms and conditions for the UCL Final Competition 2024 Prize Draw (the "Prize Draw")
By entering the Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (these "Terms and Conditions"). Promotional materials relating to the Prize Draw, including all information on how to enter the Prize Draw, also form part of these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any conflict between any terms referred to in such promotion materials and these Terms and Conditions, these Terms and Conditions take precedence.
- The promoter of this Prize Draw is Expedia, 1111 Expedia Group Way W., Seattle, WA, 98119 USA ("Expedia").
- Eligibility: The Prize Draw is open only to individuals who are 18 years of age or older (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is older) as of the date of participation. Employees of Expedia and its parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers and advertising/promotion agencies as well as the immediate family members (spouse, parents, siblings, and children, and each of their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and household members (whether or not related) to those employees, are not eligible to enter. Expedia reserves the right to require participants to prove that they are eligible to enter the Prize Draw. If the winner is found to be ineligible, Expedia reserves the right to award the prize to another participant and to require the return of any prize already awarded.
- Ineligibility: The Prize Draw is not open to residents of Austria, Brazil, Spain, Russia, Italy, India, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Myanmar/Burma, Syria, Zimbabwe, Western Balkans, Belarus, Cote d’ Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Somalia, Canadian residents who reside in the province of Quebec and residents of any other country sanctioned by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury.
- The Entry Period for the Prize Draw commences at 00:00 am GMT on 5 June 2023 and all entries must be received by 23:59 pm UK time on the closing date of 08 September 2023. Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible. Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Competition.
- Entry to the Prize Draw is free; no purchase is necessary. To enter the Prize Draw, participants must enter their first name, last name and email on the Expedia Live site: www.expedia.co.uk/sports/ucl. Entries submitted by any other means will not be accepted; only those submitted via the official method of entry will be accepted.
- The Prize Draw will be promoted on Instagram at the following URL address: https://www.instagram.com/expediauk/. This will be promoted via dedicated social posts throughout the live competition dates (5 June through 8 September 2023). Use of script, macro or any automated system to enter the Prize Draw is prohibited and entries made (or which appear to have been made) using any such system may be treated as void. Any illegible, incomplete or fraudulent entries will be rejected. There is a limit of one (1) Entry per person during the Prize Draw. There is only one (1) prize to be won by one (1) winner in total. The winner shall be a legal resident in one of the jurisdictions outlined in clause 2 above. Entries received from any person in excess of the stated limit will be void. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means are void.
- The prize to be won for one (1) winner is:
- Two (2) General Admission tickets for the UEFA Champions League final fixture match on 1 June 2024 at Wembley Stadium;
- Round trip airfare for winner and a guest, up to £1,500 per person
- 2-night hotel stay with breakfast (1 hotel room for 2 people) and ground transportation to/from the stadium (airfare is NOT included). Stay dates are 31 May – 1 June 2024.
Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of a Prize is £5500.
UEFA Champions League match tickets are subject to fixture dates and availability. Fixture dates and kick-off times are subject to change. If travel or other restrictions prevent attendance or utilization of the Prize as described above, an alternate prize (“Alternate Prize”) will be offered. The Alternate Prize will be £5500 Expedia Rewards points.
Sponsor will work with winners to book their travel and accommodation.
A major credit card will be required at check in at hotel to cover any incidental charges. No cancellation of reservation or transfer of reservation to another date will be permitted after reservation has been made.
In respect of any Prize comprising travel or any other activity, a winner must expressly acknowledge that undertaking such travel or activity is at their own risk and sole discretion and they will make their own assessment of the risks and of their own suitability to participate in or to undertake such activity or travel.
The Prize Winner and his/her guest are expected to exercise all reasonable care for their own health and safety and for that of all other persons at all times when attending a match, in particular by complying with any health and safety legislation and regulations and complying with any instructions as provided as well as complying with the ticket Terms and Conditions as provided by the UEFA Champions League which is included on the ticket per fixture. The winner is responsible for paying all associated costs that are not specifically stated in these Terms and Conditions, including (where applicable), travel documents (if required), round trip air fare to London, United Kingdom, any additional accommodations not included in the prize above, meals and beverages, gratuities, souvenirs, and all other incidentals. The winner is also personally responsible for any personal or incidental expenses and any VAT, national and/or local tax liabilities incurred in claiming or using the prize. The prize is as stated and is non-exchangeable and non-transferable. There is no cash or other alternative to the prize in whole or in part. By participating in the Prize Draw, participants agree that the prize is awarded on an "as is" basis, and that neither Expedia nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies, make any representations or warranties of any nature with respect to the prize.
- The winner of the Prize Draw will be the first name chosen at random from all complete, eligible, properly submitted entries received before the end of the closing date.
- The winner will be notified from either expediagroupUCLtickets@octagon.com or bexpartnerships@octagon.com to the email address of their Entry and will be asked to respond no later than 22 September 2023. The winner may be required to submit valid identification and execute and return to Expedia a declaration of eligibility, a liability release, including specific guidance regarding utilization of a Prize, including travel, during the COVID-19 global pandemic and, where lawful, a publicity release before receiving their prize. The Prize, or the Alternate Prize, will be sent by email from Expedia within three (3) days of the winner accepting the prize. If any e-mails to the winner are returned as undeliverable or the winner does not respond to the email within 24 hours we will select another winner. Expedia reserves the right to conduct a further random draw to award their prizes to another participant. Such newly selected winner will be notified in the same manner as above within one (1) business day of the drawing and will be asked to provide the same information as requested above. Only three (3) alternate entrants will be contacted for the Prize. Unclaimed prizes may not be awarded.
- In the event that, for reasons beyond Expedia’s reasonable control and not related to the winner, Expedia is unable to award the Prize as described in these Terms and Conditions, Expedia reserves the right to award an Alternate Prize as described in Paragraph 6 above, or at its sole discretion, the cash value of the prize.
- By entering the Prize Draw, participants agree to have their name and photograph featured in publicity materials relating to the Prize Draw without further reference, payment or other compensation (in accordance with local laws). This includes making their name as the winner available on the Website or on Instagram between September 2023 and September 2024. Details of the winner will also be made available to participants and the public on request by sending a direct message to the Expedia Instagram account no later than 31 October 2023.
- Expedia will collect, store and otherwise process participants' personal information as part of the Prize Draw in accordance with our privacy policy posted on the Expedia website (residents of the US, see Legal Information (expedia.com); residents of the UK, see: https://www.expedia.co.uk/lp/lg-privacy; residents of Germany, see: https://www.expedia.de/en/lp/lg-privacypolicy; and residents of France, see: https://www.expedia.fr/en/lp/lg-privacy and will share such information with Expedia’s agents and affiliates (including those outside the European Economic Area) to the extent necessary in order to conduct the Prize Draw including for the prize to be delivered to the winner. If participants do not provide any of the mandatory information requested when entering and taking part in the Prize Draw, they may not take part in the Prize Draw.
- Expedia reserves the right to reasonably modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Prize Draw in whole or in part, at its sole discretion, if it believes the Prize Draw is not capable of being conducted as specified within these Terms and Conditions or in the event of a virus, a computer bug or unauthorized human intervention or any other cause that is beyond the reasonable control of Expedia that could corrupt or affect the administration, security, impartiality or normal course of the Prize Draw. Neither Expedia nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies are responsible for any condition, circumstances, losses, failures or delays caused by events beyond its or their control such as (but not limited to) the acts or defaults of any supplier selected by Expedia to provide the prize or otherwise that may cause the Prize Draw to be disrupted or corrupted, or that may lead to loss or damage of the prize in transit to the winner.
- Save where it has been negligent, Expedia will not be responsible for any damage, loss or injury resulting from participants' entry into the Prize Draw or their acceptance and/or use of the prize, or for technical, hardware or software failures, lost, faulty or unavailable network connections or difficulties of any kind that may limit or prohibit their ability to participate in the Prize Draw. Expedia will not be responsible for any lost, damaged, defaced, incomplete, illegible or otherwise unreadable entries. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt by Expedia of any entries. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall in any way limit Expedia’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for any other matter where liability may not as a matter of law be limited.
- Any participant who enters or attempts to enter the Prize Draw in a manner, which in Expedia’s reasonable determination is contrary to these Terms and Conditions or by its nature is unjust to other entrants (including without limitation tampering with the operation of the Prize Draw, cheating, hacking, deception or any other unfair playing practices such as intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other entrants or Expedia and/or any of its agents or representatives) may be rejected from the Prize Draw at Expedia’s sole discretion. Furthermore, where such actions have significantly impaired the Prize Draw, Expedia may, at its sole discretion, add further stages to the Prize Draw as it deems reasonably necessary in order to resolve any problems arising as a result of such actions.
- All Expedia’s decisions in relation to the Prize Draw are final and Expedia will not enter into any correspondence with participants.
- All Sponsor’s decisions in relation to the Prize Draw are final and Promoter will not enter into any correspondence with entrants other than the winner. Except where prohibited by law, Entrants agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Prize Draw or the prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. This Prize Draw is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The laws of the State of Washington govern this Prize Draw without reference to choice of law principles. Any dispute regarding the Prize Draw is exclusively subject to the courts of the State of Washington. You hereby irrevocably waive any and all right to a trial by jury in any legal proceeding arising out of or relating to the Prize Draw. You further waive any objection to venue in the State of Washington, whether such objection is based on lack of personal jurisdiction, improper venue, forum non conveniens, or the like.
- COUNTRY SPECIFIC NOTICE: If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is invalid under the law, rules or regulations of a particular country, the invalidity of such provision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provision.
- Notwithstanding anything elsewhere in these Terms and Conditions, no person’s or entity’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence shall be limited in any way, and nor shall their ability for fraud or for any other matter where liability may not as a matter of law be limited or excluded. Where these Terms and Conditions provide for discretion exercisable by a Released Party that could otherwise be capable of causing a significant imbalance in the parties’ rights and obligation hereunder, to the detriment of a consumer and contrary to the requirement of good faith, shall be exercised reasonably and in good faith.
