Everything is good, just book your dinner reservations prior to arrival to secure your spot.

The hotel is well located, food is good, variety of restaurants, the partys are good although it should include more latin music skip that electronic crap. The nightclub is separate you have to pay entrance.

Loyal family guests for years, we stayed 15 nights (Aug 19 to Sep 3), 6 people in 2 rooms, and this was nothing like the Esmeralda we knew. Hygiene: cockroaches and insects in the rooms, poor cleaning, sheets changed only once in 15 days (the first set was already stained), and a badly kept pool. Worst of all, food poisoning after eating the hotel's ceviche: 4 of the 6 of us got sick. Service: staff who were always friendly now served us reluctantly. Housekeeping shouted in the hallway outside our ground floor rooms every morning. Endless breakfast lines, coffee always late and with no spoon, wine arriving with dessert. Indoor air-conditioned tables held "reserved" while we ate outside in the heat. The app cancelled our restaurant bookings twice, and we were told to screenshot them next time. Room service took over an hour and brought the wrong dessert; when we complained, the answer was "that's fine." Pool: guests from other hotels took the best loungers and crowded the bar (10 in one group). On weekends, adult groups partied in the pool. This is a family hotel, and Bahia Principe has adults-only resorts for that. Since Bahia Principe became part of Hyatt, the decline is impossible to ignore. We expected the Hyatt name to raise the standard, not lower it. We would welcome hearing from management on how they plan to make this right for returning families like ours.
