Cano Island Biological Reserve Ski Holidays

This stay was incredible. From our balcony, we watched spider monkeys, capuchins, toucans and humming birds. The rooms were comfortable with air conditioning, and Veronika made us excellent towel animals every day! We were made to feel very special on our honeymoon. Breakfast was exceptional, with great service from Antonio. Dinner was equally great quality, and affordable! We enjoyed cocktails by the pool throughout our stay. We were able to get an Uber on a Monday night into La Fortuna with a very short wait, and an uber back was easy too - each ride cost around £3/$4. I’d highly recommend Ti-Fakara lodge. It was a really special place, right next to incredible nature and wildlife, with attentive and genuine staff. We loved our stay!

The property itself was stunning. Great location, beautiful grounds.

Beautiful place with friendly (very friendly!) and helpful staff. On site restaurant with beautiful view and great (really great!) food. Don’t forget to use their Sunset Pool near, well, sunset.

The A/C worked great, but whomever slept in the bed closest to it better get an extra blanket. The mattresses are extra firm

Beautiful clean property with great amenities. They even have a free shuttle to the MP park. Great breakfast with a beautiful trail. But the first day they allocated us with a room with a single bed and sofa bed even if I had booked a room with 2 queen beds. And the room did not have a working fan. After complaining they moved us next day to a better room (better than what I had booked) to make it up. So they definitely try to please a customer. But I feel they should nit have given a cheaper room to us in the first place. And if we had not complained we would have to stay there.

If you want to be right in the middle of nature and wildlife this is the place to go. Most of the resort is raised up into the treetops so you can be eye level with creatures you'd usually only see way above you from the ground. The included hikes and birdwatching were wonderful with very knowledgeable and passionate guides. We also arranged a day trip to Corcovado by boat through the lodge in advance, seems pricey at first but was well worth it. Over the course of a week we saw sloths (lodge & Corcovado), monkeys (everywhere), tapirs (Corcovado), ant eaters (lodge and Corcovado), coatis (lodge), frogs and lizards (lodge) and so many different birds (everywhere). We chose a forest bungalow room which is just screened in from the outside. I was a bit worried the lack of AC might make it too hot to sleep, but at the end of April the fans in the room were enough to keep us comfortable over night. No need for alarm clocks, the howler monkeys will get you up every day. Overall a fantastic nature focused lodge that combines the ability to relax with adventure.
