(365 reviews) ⭐ 4-Star Review – Important Tips for Future Guests If you’re coming to Colmar during the Christmas Market season, be aware that Uber or taxis may NOT be able to drop you off directly in front of the hotel. The streets around the hotel are closed to traffic, so even with Uber we still had to walk about 100 yards with our luggage. It wasn’t a huge problem, but travelers with mobility issues should absolutely keep this in mind. We stayed in Le Colombier Suites, which is located across a small pedestrian pathway from the main hotel. The space itself is beautiful and charming, but there is no elevator in the Suites building. The staircases are narrow and can be difficult, especially with suitcases. One of the employees kindly helped us carry our luggage up, but the front desk told us this service isn’t always available. If you have mobility concerns, I strongly recommend booking in the main hotel instead of the Suites. Another thing to know ahead of time: restaurants around the hotel are in extremely high demand during Christmas Market season. Most places were fully booked months in advance. We ended up eating sushi nearby (which was decent), and the next day, after asking around for about 30 minutes, we finally found an Italian restaurant that had space for walk-ins. Plan your dinner reservations well ahead of your trip if food is important to you and you don’t plan on eating street food. This would be a 5-star review, except it had no elevators. (172 reviews) This is a lovely hotel that is clean and close to the sites of the city. You are within walking distance to the Petite France district which houses the cathedral, Christmas markets, shopping and many restaurants. We stayed in an apartment which was lovely, it was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is a wonderful perk with generous offerings. We were, however; disappointed with the service we received. Upon arrival, we were made to wait some time and not given appropriate information for our stay including; check-out times, cleaning, the location of our apartment and assistance with our baggage even though we requested it. We were also given the keys to the wrong room and entered a room that was occupied. Our keys never worked throughout our entire stay and we had to get new ones every time we came and left which was quite inconvenient. We were told that we could not lock our room from the inside as this is why the keys were not working, which made us quite uncomfortable, We also requested cleaning and left our door sign out from 11am-11pm and our room was never cleaned.
