(32 reviews) A lovely location by the lake with a lakeside view. Easy reach to the beach and walkable distance to the ski resort which is opened in the summer. The flat has a private sauna. Windows could not be opened which made the place very hot during our stay. Hotel staff was very helpful although the check in desk was actually a 5 min drive away from the apartment. It was difficult to find. The check in instructions could be improved by a bit more description in addition to the check in address. Overall we had a lovely time there. (126 reviews) Our stay was exactly what my fiancé and I were hoping for! The room had absolutely everything needed for a ski trip. It had a spectacular view with both a hot tub and sauna. It was spacious, equipped with all the kitchen necessities, and was close to the rentals and gondola. Not too mention all the nearby restaurants and shops. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay. (130 reviews) Let's start with the positives. The hotel's location couldn't be better, situated right in front of the ski lifts and pistes. This made it incredibly convenient to hit the slopes first thing in the morning and to return to the hotel after a day of skiing. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean but without any cleaning services during the stay. Unfortunately, my experience with the Reception desk left much to be desired. Despite reaching out for assistance with various inquiries, I found the staff to be unhelpful and at times dismissive. This was especially frustrating when attempting to address issues with advice on snowshoe tracks and needing clarification on certain amenities and other bookings. It would be great if the staff could be more attentive and accommodating to guests' needs and use less: "We don't know!" Another downside was the breakfast options offered at the hotel. As a vegan with gluten restrictions, I found the selection to be quite limited. I encountered some issues with local taxis in the area. Despite travelling different distances, I was consistently quoted the same fare, which seemed unfair and inconsistent. No taxi meters. Overall, while Ruka Valley Inn has its merits, there are areas where improvements could be made to enhance the overall guest experience. With better customer service, expanded breakfast options, and improved transparency in local transportation, this could truly be a standout destination for ski enthusiasts. (81 reviews) We had a fab time and stayed in a lovely log cabin - was clean and perfect for two adults and a nine year old. The resort was very quiet with two places to eat that were walkable. We really enjoyed the skiing, was approx 160 euros per day for two adults and a child for equipment hire and lift passes. The only downside was that the pool and gym were quite expensive to use - 45 euros for three people to swim and 6 euros to use the gym that were both part of the hotel. Also make sure you stock up on supplies before you get there in Salla if you dont have a car - there is only a tiny shop on site and was no milk while we were there. Also arrange transport before you get there!
