Room was very, very nice. Bed extremely comfortable. Everything was great except that we wished there were more hooks or rods for towels. Not enough places to hang things. Also, we were very confused by the lighting, found it difficult to get lights turned on where we wanted them. And the electrical outlets did not securely hold plugs I was using for charging devices. So the devices would stop charging unexpectedly because the cord came loose. Despite the issues noted, we would definitely stay there again!

Seems noisy. Creaking floors and noise from adjacent rooms. Great restaurant, but they told us it is going seasonal for breakfast starting in October. Marginal gym with view of nothing and charged daily at $34. Expensive valet. Great location and water views,

Reasons for all the stars: It's a charming, old, pre-war hotel with lots of period features, so this was welcome, and I always greatly value an excellent room service menu from an onsite restaurant, which this place surely has. Downsides: The place could use a face lift, especially in the rooms, which are a bit musty and carpets rather worn, and it could also more front desk help to lessen check-in wait times. That said, I found the place charming and was very pleased with the two wonderful late-evening room-service dinners I had. For me, that's always a relief.
