West Portland Pet-friendly Holidays

The positives: Staff was very friendly and helpful. The mattress on my bed was the best I've ever slept on! Room had a microwave, refrigerator and safe, along with an ironing board and iron. The negatives: The furniture in my room was a bit shabby, with scratches and drawers not completely closing. The faucet in my sink was broken and I was unable to get hot, or even warm, water out of it. The handyman tried to fix it. He was able to get lukewarm water coming out of it. I said I could live with lukewarm water from the sink, but after he left, cold water only came out. My room didn't have a coffee maker, but the lobby had hot coffee available for guests.

No. No. No. No. No. Simply do not stay at this hotel. Extremely unsafe and absolutely terrifying experience. The lady who booked me in was great. But that's where it stopped. Rooms looked like anything of value had been removed a long time ago. Bare minimum care and furnishings. Saw a van from the bug extermination company when I was checking in. Not a big deal, but the pople in the room next door were up partying and talking loud all night. Around 11 PM I called the front desk and politely asked them to help since the people in the next room had been loud for hours on end. The guy didn't seem to care. A couple hours later things were progressively getting louder so I called the front desk again. The guy told me he already did all he could and couldn't help anymore. Got very confrontational and was completely unhelpful. I aked if I should call the police or just leave. He said either one was an option. It's now almost 2 AM and so I knock on the door to ask the people to quiet down. They responded by trying to come into my room through the adjoining door. When that failed they tried the front door. Literally got chased out of my hotel room in the middle of the night and the hotel staff thought it was a joke. Ended up calling the police and just leaving the hotel without getting any sleep. Don't take any chances with this place.
