Central Albania Mountain Holidays

I don't normally expect a lot from a hotel for me to be happy to return. The plus for this hotel is its location. However, that also means that it is very noisy at night on weekends especially. The hotel is clean to a satisfactory level. Although looking under my bed, the collection of dust suggests it could be more thorough. The staff are disinterested.And the front desk is not staffed all hours. I had small items such as phone charging cables vanish. But obviously with no front desk to raise this with it was hard to dispute. Breakfast buffet selection was minimal. The property is kept running at a basic level. Things done to keep things running, rather than to make things comfortable/convenient for guests. I'd not stay here again

Great view, very spacious and centrally located.

Very nice place to stay with a slightly upscale vibe. However, there were strange occurrences that were somewhat annoying. Upon check in, the older man at the desk would not look up from his phone to greet us. After arriving from a long travel day, we had to use the restroom, so we went to search for it since he completely ignored our presence. My friend went and used the bathroom and came back, still no greeting. Then I went to the bathroom and came back and since he was still staring at his phone I finally asked, can you please assist us? He looked up and said he was dealing with a client. I suppose the clients that were standing right in front of him weren’t as important as the person he was texting on his phone. The other thing that made zero sense (and that was not disclosed to us when booking or when checking in) is that the pool closes at 6:00 PM every day… I booked this place specifically to have access to a pool, but it closed so early that by the time we got back from our daytime adventures we were never able to use it. Other than the check in experience and the pool restrictions, the property was beautiful and the rest of the staff was very nice, so I would recommend this to fellow travelers.

If you want three star Benidorm on a five star package this is the Melia for you. A hotel loses its luxury title when it’s full of families and kids. It instantly diminishes the whole experience if you’re travelling as adults only. It might have good cuisine s d restaurants but when kids are running around and screaming that is NOT a luxury experience. Cheap music pumped through speakers pool side every day. Loud music played around the pool for water aerobics. And for some reason the Benny Hill theme tune being blasted from somewhere on the complex that was even louder than the music around the pool. Beautiful beach bar but we walked out after 20 minutes of waiting for the table to be cleared and to be served. The beach is beautiful but it’s polluted with permanent sun shades. Which means you cannot actually see the sea from the beach bar or take advantage of the absolutely stunning sun set there!!!!! There is no where to have a quiet drink without kids running around uou!!! If you want an adult only holiday there then they extort more money out of you to join the ‘Level’. Sorry this is just extortion. And if you don’t want an All Inclusive package such as the Level then tough. You simply cannot just pay to use the roof top pools like the Intercontinental Hotrl in Malta for example. This hotel is Melia by name only. Sorry but I cannot recommend this hotel if you’re looking for Adult only experience without the extra costs.

Not a great experience overall.

Clean room and bathroom.

Our room had a gorgeous view of the water and was fairly spacious however the hotel itself is impossible to find using Google Maps or GPS. A staff person had to meet us on the main road and lead us to it then check us in. Because we were there in the off-season, no staff were actually on the premises. Once we were settled, we had to have a staff person return because there was a leak in the bathroom sink plumbing which resulted in a sizable puddle of water on the floor. When a young man came, he put a couple of bath mats over the puddles to absorb the water and said he’d fix it the next day (after we left). In the morning we had to use a couple towels to suck up more water. The toilet is in the corner of the bathroom, so close to the shower and the bidet that you have to sit sideways. The heater did not get the room warm enough and the bed had only a top sheet and a thin blanket that was only 2/3 the size of the bed. If you pulled it up to your shoulder, your feet weren’t covered. There were no extra blankets so we were quite cold all night. But the view was stunning and the room rate was low so I guess you get what you pay for (or don’t get what you don’t pay for).

The staff were very unfriendly and not helpful except this one waiter we had. They were mostly rude and dismissive. The room had no functional mirror. For the price point not worth it in my opinion except for the rooftop which is nice
