The Hermiston Guest House is a big step-up in the genre of B&B accommodations. Proprietors Phil & Helen go to great lengths to insure that every guest is comfortable and has everything they need. We will definitely stay here again whenever we are in the Lake District. Exceptional!

The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a room with a balcony with lovely views. The room was small and in need of an upgrade in my opinion. Older furniture. The bathroom whilst a good size with nice toiletries was also looking tired in parts. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate Sunday lunch in the restaurant. The restaurant is lovely. The food was excellent.Although not very very generous on portions of vegetables. The service was excellent during the lunch however a little disorganised at breakfast. Nice touch of complimentary gin and tonic in the room . However when we asked for ice and tonic for the room it never arrived. The spa facilities are in a lovely setting are small only 4 heated loungers so a little crowded. Best to go in quiet times. The outside seating is fab with outdoor heating. Breakfast was nice but had to ask for several items during our breakfast. We found all the staff to be very friendly a credit to the hotel. Just a few minutes walk into Grasmere centre.

Lovely guest house, 10 minutes walk from Windermere and Bowness. Loads of lovely restaurants, cafes to choose from. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and lots of excellent choices. Rich and his team were very helpful. Just be aware that offside health club is 2 miles away so tricky if you don't travel by car. Not a problem for us as we enjoyed the local walks and amenities.
