Montenegro Coast Honeymoon Holidays

I only stayed there one night because they were overbooked when I arrived and they did not have the type of room I have ordered available. When I spoke to the front desk manager, they rectified the issue by upgrading me to their sister hotel on the same beach front, which was excellent.

I’m not sure if this is a regional standard or simply the hotel’s policy, but for a 4-star hotel, the lack of even basic amenities was very surprising. There was no kettle, tea or coffee in the room, no conditioner, and no body lotion. It honestly felt very outdated for a hotel in this category. Breakfast was particularly disappointing. There was a lot of variety, but unfortunately almost everything was tasteless. Many items were overly oily, the breads were dry, and even the breakfast coffee was very poor. Cleanliness was another major issue. The public restrooms were dirty almost every time I used them, and on more than one occasion the toilets had literally been left unflushed and soiled. This is simply not acceptable for a 4-star property. The one genuinely positive part of my stay was the staff working on the 3rd floor. They were consistently warm, smiling, helpful and kind, and I really appreciated them. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the rest of the service, which I found largely unhelpful. Overall, the experience fell far below what I would expect from a 4-star hotel, both in terms of amenities and basic standards of food, cleanliness and service.

Great pools but they need to remain open for longer - officially closes at 5pm though a little leeway. Breakfast buffet extensive and something for everyone. Open 7am-11am which is helpful. Very helpful concierge Goran and taxi booking from Diana. Be organised about this especially as lots of traffic due to roadworks on airport and Kotor road. Excellent housekeeping staff. Beach towels available from beach itself also very useful. Nice bars and restaurants immediately outside and turn left for very pretty area with lovely seafood restaurants and secluded beaches. 20 minute walk to Budvar if you turn right out of hotel. Not the prettiest walk initially but bear with it as port area and old town lovely.

Everything is made super difficult by the staff. Everyone says something different. My wife and 2 small children got left at the marina by boat ferry captain igor because he has a “schedule” even though he went back to the hotel and when he came back he said ok now you can go back to the hotel. Literally left woman and children standing there in the heat. If you go to the beach early they won’t let you have the front row because it’s reserved so you msg the concierge and ask to reserve the front row the next day and they say they don’t take reservations for specific seating. So which is it?? Guess we will never know. They need to step up the hospitality of the staff.
