Lake District National Park Honeymoon Holidays

Breakfast excellent, staff very good, welcome good. Hotel in good position for walking to places. Car parking on site good. Room was good but a little dated.

We arrived for a four night stay and no one offered to help with luggage or really anything. It’s was 32 Celsius and the front desk did not even have fans. They left the curtains open and no air conditioning so the room was an oven and the carpet was filthy. The window would only open one inch. No one helped us with our luggage and there are all sorts of staircases. Front desk was rude and unhelpful and we would have baked to death. We found another hotel and left, having prepaid $1200. Expedia could not get them to charge for one night only since we never used the hotel room but they refused to do anything. Expedia kindly gave me a coupon to cover some of my trouble but it was out of their hands. The hotel is a three star best case… The B&B we moved to had balconies and temperature even on hottest days of the summer were pleasant.

Very enjoyable stay. Hotel combines the traditional with the modern very well. Spa is lovely and our room was fantastic.

Stayed one night, in the Troutbeck room (including hot tub). Pool and outside hydro therapy pool were great. Thoroughly recommended!

Beautiful property and first class service

The worst hotel & spa I have ever been to, would not even call this place a spa - my gym has better facilities. Spa in a pub (ridiculous as it sounds). People drinking alcohol in the spa (including in the steam room). Pitch black in the spa - accident waiting to happen. Rude staff. Too busy for the size of the hotel. Had a massage but couldn't relax because it was so loud & lairy in the spa. Room was tiny, narrow and twisted staircase which was a nightmare taking luggage up. Bathroom not cleaned (apartment, but this was not explained upon check-in). Honestly not worth the money, was not relaxing, and would not recommend to anyone.
