Location of the site is amazing (nice view etc...) ; heritage aspect of the establishment is amazing (old castle...). but the building would require a renovation/refurbishment at the level of expected quality of the site (accomodation, amenities, wellness area...) and a very reactif staff (for example during the spent 3 nights, toilet seat lid was not properly fixed despite demand at reception).

Really enjoyed staying at this hotel and would happily stay again. The beds were comfortable, the room well decorated, and the stocked minibar was great. Complimentary toiletries - including nail file - were great as I was travelling light. Nice breakfast. Friendly team on reception. Handy location.

Old, dingy carpet in the bedroom. The room itself was a nice size (one of the best closets I have ever seen at a hotel) but it felt like being in a fancy nursing home -- old and sad....Breakfast was mediocre. Guests were joking about the hot buffet. The cold cheeses and meats were fine. The baked goods were not great. We had thought to have dinner in the restaurant but after our first breakfast we changed our minds....Great location and a gorgeous city.

In between a hotel and an Airbnb, in that it doesn’t have a 24 hour desk. The after hours check-in info was not sent to me via Expedia. However the super nice bar staff of the l’Opera got me in and settled. Air conditioning was good and bed was fine. I’ve decided pillows in Italy need improving, however.
